Well I still need to put the answers up to the Mark Ellis interview but just for now I'll say that Mega has no ties with Bradford City whatsoever. Not at the moment at least and if he is going to be involved with City at any point in the future, it is a long way off... next season at the earliest if ever.

True, very true. And Mega introduced Mark Lawn to Dave Baldwin who's doing a cracking job trying to sort out the marketing side of City. However officially Mega has no ties with City whatsoever so I don't believe that any connection with old Eboneezer Morrison and Mega would be anything to get excited about.

However Mega does come on this forum every now and then so maybe one day he'll follow Paul's suite and post a reply or two !!!

Maybe you were following the wrong car, M3GA or MEG4 is his reg. It's often at Goals when we're there, winning division 3. Can't remember the colour but it's a Saab I'm sure.

Dave Baldwin was brought in for 3 weeks as a consultant and has been there 7 months now. He's had to try and drag a sinking ship up from the bottom of the ocean and he's not going to achieve visible results (for the fans) overnight but he's got a clear agenda. There is a lot wrong with City that nothing can be done with for a few years, whilst there is a lot of animosity towards City from the last 7 years that is not going to change overnight.
City are making moves to rectify these things but these are things that do not happen just like that, within 3 years things should look completely different but it is a long, drawn out process.

Having personally been on the recieving end of the clubs hospitality last week I can offer you a personal view. Despite all the preparations needed for the memorial day, and despite the short notice (x-mas day evening) and for boxing day, the club still managed to make arrangements for me for the full works, dinner, match day ticket, company, booze, chats with the men in charge, amazing souvenier, etc. And that is only little old unknown me so don't think that the club isn't going to be working their bollocks off trying to up the local commercial profile of the club.

Have yourself a chat with the men in charge at City and see what kind of picture they have in motion, they can tell you better than I can because I am too pished to remember everything I have seen and heard and am also not at liberty to post on here even half of the things I see and hear.

The people in positions of power at City really are not a bad bunch, they are open and more than willing to have a chat with the fans. Whether they will allow you privvy to insider information is another story but they will certainly answer most of the questions you would care to ask.
I think people forget that they are all die hard Bradford City fans. City fans before they became involved with the club. Take a look at yourselves, if you want to fleece a club or be a "Del Boy" with a club, are you going to do that to your beloved Bradford City or would you do that to an 'Udders or an 'Alifax?

I think it is very easy to point the finger of blame at Julain Rhodes or at Mark Lawn but in reality how many of you actually know what is really going on behind the scenes at Valley Parade? How many of you have seen the figures over the last 7 years? How many of you know exactly what kinds of sacrifices have been made in order to make BC a viable proposition? Perhaps a Ken Morrison would have kept us in the Championship with his money but how many businessmen with that kind of money have actually offered to back us in the last 7 years? Exactly. I am not going to say ML or JR are the perfect chairmen because I don't know enough and have not seen enough, however whilst at least for ML, he will openly admit he is not an experienced chairman and is learning everything day by day and (accorfing to family, freinds and business partners) working his absolute bollocks off for the club, because of his love for the club.

If we are all going to live by hear-say then we should look first at the 99% of what is not happening at the club before casting aspertions at what IS happening at the club. Perhaps then we can get a better (if not perfect) perspective.

Hahahahahahaha, sounds about right
Still, these posts gave me a good outlet for some of the stuff I need to pack into my next report for the City website. My dictaphone broke before I spoke to Mark (Lawn) and Dave so while I was on a roll I thought I'd pack as much in to my post as possible in case I forget it when getting down to organising my proper reports!!!

I was just thinking the same thing, family man like yourself. But at least you have a work excuse.
I'm just enjoying being back in my own flat instead of my parents. Music blaring out and a recycle bag full of empty beer cans. Nice glass of alca-seltzer at the ready for tomorrow morning hahahaha

When's the first RRFCM match after the winter stop ?

I want to see all these new recruits in action so I'll be there. No offense to City but I think I'll see better football at your place than at Valley Parade. I was quite shocked at the comparison actually. While Bradford have obviously some more gifted players than some of your players, I think the clash of styles would make for a great game of football. Long ball Bradford v flair Montegnee. 5-3 to City would be my bet, at least if both teams could field somebody who could actually put the ball in the onion bag !!!!

Anyway, 20th January... I'll have to arrange my dates for the weekend before that then!!!

When are Mega and Dave Baldwin coming over again? If it's that weekend I'll have to take the Monday off work so I can enjoy a few beers with the boys!!!

I can see City fans now all rushing to my Uncles Capri for autographs as they clocked Mega getting out of it back in 87/88, not long after he was injured at Birmingham. Nearly 20 years ago. jawdrop:

I've seen a bit of the behind the scenes stuff, Dutch. I don't envy them but I'd rather they be more open to the fans about what the true reality is rather than hyped up everything will be ok pr stuff. I think the issue is we all have our ideas of how we would do it and many of us would do it differently. However at the end of the day I understand how difficult a job it is yet I still think we could do things better and we miss out on a lot by operating a very closed shop.

The Morrison stuff is merely a fans dream that we have a Walker type chairman who throws money at the club, it won't happen with City ever unless Wisey wins the Euro Millions.

Still, onwards and upwards eh?

Dave Baldwin is good at what he does, and the marketing side of things is building steadily.

I'm also reasonably impressed with Mark Lawn - I still don't particularly like the man, but for the first time in a long time things do seem to be happening in the right direction, at least off the pitch.
