I see little to be positive about in the coming months - we have some players who are just interested in their pay packets.
For McCall to come on the radio and state that the first half was a good show from City is puzzling - I see no difference at all - in fact we seem to be going backwards.
Um Bongo now sent back to Gillingham to release wages for a back up keeper ect is maybe understandable, but again I woinder just how stable the finances are at City?

Lawn was on Radio L**ds last night saying the finances are in good shape but they will stay within budget for the rest of the season. McCall will have to wheel and deal like every other manager. He's had half a season now to assess the team and the league so lets see what happens in January first before getting too gloomy.

I'm not getting gloomy, just getting realistic about City and the future.

Theres no way we'll finish in the bottom 2. I can see us hovering around mid table for the rest of the season, win 1, lose 2 etc.
We won't get relegated. Although... we're like the league two version of Newcastle. We think we deserve better, but we're just shite.

Midtable a pipe dream !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get a grip man while a hell of a lot of city fans had the belief that we would become a promotion winning team some of us predicted a midtable finish and that's where will end up.

We let our top scorer go, everybody thinks we are safe and too good to get relegated. Lets just hope we can sell a Jamaican winger as well roflmao:

nope but unless we see signifigant changes during the transfer window then we may well see another battle against the drop.

there is no may about it.... we will be fighting the drop with this set of players.
At this point i realise that you dont need good players at this level you just need to get them to play as a unit and fight for EVERYTHING! Something our players seem to have a mental block on!
Or maybe it is the manager look what darlo got out of colbeck when he was on loan he was scoring and assisting regularly but for us he is just pap why?? Its exactly the same player but he is awesome anywhere except VP???? Its bizarre......

One reason is that possibly at Darlo, the crowd didn't get on Joe's back the minute he fluffs a cross or misplaces a pass.
Don't get me wrong, Joe is madly frustrating but at VP there are too many people ready to slag off the players at the smallest mistake. If they happen to be local lads, you can multiply that by 2. The majority of the crowd at VP disgust me at times with their fickleness.
No word of a lie, when we stuffed Bristol City 5??? the other season a guy behind me did nothing but whinge cos we missed a couple of chances.................no pleasing some folk.

I agree with you to an extent, i dont agree with the slagging off of players...the ironic ricketts cheers when he kicks or catches must be soul destroying same for colbeck, daley etc
However there comes a time when players need to take responsibility for their perfomances....you can hear these chants and use them to spur you on to do better something barry has done and now enjoys the fans great backing..he turned it on his head!!
Other players were not liked and almost barracked at VP over very recent years and they still came up with the goods...take summerbee for example...what would i give for someone of his crossing ability right now??
So it can be done and mental youghness is extremely important if you want to succeed at VP or any other club IMO

Spot on there JS tup:
I said exactly the same the other week when Colbeck came back!
It seems most the fans have less patience for our home grown players than they do new arrivals or loan players.....surely it should be the other way round?
No wonder our youth players never turn into first team players :(

Cant agree our youth are never good cos we have poor coaches....how long has daley and colbeck been unable to cross a ball ???? fooking ages why cant anyone train them how to do it ???? cos our coaches are not very good

Yet when Colbeck goes on loan to Darlo he can cross and score goals for fun??? ;)

Did anyone think colbeck might have been better at Darlo because they have better players? It is sometimes the people around you who can help?
Maybe their captain spoke????? :O
