Blame the ref all you want but many of the players on the pitch today for City, do not deserve to wear the shirt.
Only a handful should be kept on and the rest told to fek off.

We actually played better than Boxing Day and i thought Hereford were a decent side without the help of the rank officials

Well if you think that today's display was accpetable then maybe i should join the chuckle revoloution - we are fekking baba, I accpet the ref was poor , but we gave away 2 goals and then stopped playing whilst the 3rd was snapped up by the mighty Hereford.
I'm not sitting here seething, far from it, but i reckon we should all relaise that the next 30 points will not be gained easily - we are dire.

Didn't say it was acceptable Wisey, i said we played better than Boxing day when we won but today Hereford were better than lincoln. Hereford have showed this year they are no mugs beating L**ds in the Cup over 2 games, give some credit to them.

I will give them credit and have done so if you read my reply to Hereford Archie.
As for City, well I'm not so sure we have bottomed out yet - certainly we are closer to the next tier down than a return to League 1.

I thought we deserved a draw at least and no way deserved to lose by 2 goals!
Saying that though, we're no where near good enough at the moment, but that hopefully will change during January?
I believe Hereford showed today what we need to progress from this division...big, strong lads who are strong in the tackle, would die for their club and are dangerous at set pieces tup:
Willy looked good as well jump:

They could also pass, shoot, score, were able to boss it in midfield and could cope with an (albeit toothless) attack force.
Not much for us to sort out then.

I suppose peering through the steamed up windows of the Bantams Bar could have given that illusion lol
Seriously though we are pants and it's going to take a mighty effort to improve.

I honestly think midfield is the problem. Too lightweight, only Nix tries to create, no ball-winner , no power or height in there, we just get by-passed every week
The only thing I think we've got right is the defence although we can even look a bit dodgy there at times.
Ricketts is dodgy as feck.
The central midfield as you point out is non-existant.
The service and running from the wingers is not good enough.
The strike force lacks pace and power, especially with G gone. Although Willy did show some good touches for the brief period he was on.
Although I entirely agree that CM needs to be sorted as quick as poss.
I would agree with Wisey in that we need a complete clearout and replacement job but how will we pay for it? It's a Catch 22 situation and really does make you feel depressed.

I think the running from the wingers isn't too bad but the crossing is total garbage. We need to learn to play balls into Willy's feet as well to get the best out of him. Thats were the service from midfield comes in.

Good point but surely we've needed to play the ball to Thornes feet to get the best out of him and we simply haven't done that yet at any point during the season! I can't see how this will be different with Willy, without a decent support from the CM then we will continue to resort to hooooooofball.
Although you could see Willy working to run into the channels to create more space for himself today which is slightly more encouraging than Thorne's 'stand still and hopefully get a bonce on it' approach.
We need to get bodies in the box. The majority of the time the ball hits the first man and when it doesn't, it's aimed towards Thorne who's completely on his own surrounded by three of the opposition.

Sorry but I dont agree....I thought we more than had enough of the ball over the game, especially in the 1st half....Hereford took their chances from set pieces and benefited from dubious decisions from the officials tdwn:
I agree that our midfield is normally totally wank though and needs replacing asap!

Apart from Nix, every midfielder this year has been a massive disappointment. Evans is a shadow of the player we had before, EJ, headless chicken, Phelan, too lightweight, same with Penford, Colbeck, shit crosser, Rhodes, injury prone Bentham's face obviously doesn't fit so a clear out is needed here.

the middle of the pitch defo needs sorting...too lightwieght, small and no ball winners at all. Although it iz the back where the real problem is with no pace and totally useless at set pieces.
Clarke, Daley and Nix were the only decent players on the pitch today...
Obviously CM is our problem. Daft as it may seem we need someone like Penford in the side simply because he's the only player who can actually pass the ball. He's not going to dominate the oppo but if we're going to play Topp we need someone who can find the poor twat otherwise he's going to slide down the plughole and disappear. Topp makes some good runs and has a good touch based on the limited evidence of today, but we need someone to feed him if he's to be effective. Penford has his limitations but he can see and deliver a pass.

Agree with you Lino but every time the lad gets a chance, something happens in a negative sense for him. He has an eye for a pass as you say but needs a hardcase ball-winner alongside him imo

i guess having a poor midfield kind of lends itself to hoofing it over them. in my mind CM is probably the most important part of the side, the engine room if you like. penford along side a ball winner sounds ok in principle but there comes a time when the lad just has to stand up and show how much he wants that starting place. he isn't a kid anymore and in my mind saying we need a minder to look after him shows how we are really carrying him. don't get me wrong, the brief times i've ssn penford he loks a decent prospect and passes the ball well with a bit of vision to boot. but unfortuanatrly we've said this time an time again and he hasn't grasped a chance. i suppose it'd be wishful thinking to get a midfielder these days who can handle the graft side and find his fellow player with an accurate pass.

We can see it hopefully Stu can see it. Whatever happens we need a bit of a chopper in CM.
Hopefully then we can start to create a bit more. On one level Penford has the ability to play in a much higher division, but defensively he is very limited.
However, players in Div 4 are bound to be limited in some way, therefore, if you have someone with a talent, then pick a team around them so you can make the best of them. Otherwise Topp may as well bugger off now, because who the fuck is going to find him.....certainly not Wethers and Clarke who seem to be our main supply line at the moment.

Topp looked good, decent hope there, but we still hoofed it!!

I'm a bit surprised just how naive McCall was about League 2 - I'm sure he could have gathered the thoughts of people like Jacko / Abbott and others for advice.
Still, roll on 55 points and safety...........and the task of selling season tickets ahem
