Fairs fair though, we are quick enough to criticise him so credit where its due for a realistic view now. He probably got carried away with everything just like the fans did

Looks like a, "shift the blame to Stuart" exercise to me.

A load of tripe. Typical I've got my feet under the table stuff and now I've been here a while I know everything there is to know about this football club, oh, and a bit of basking in the glory of look what I have done to make your club debt free and in a great position going forward, and I did you a favour giving you cheap tickets. Sorry, not convinced yet.

Are you turning into Chuckle? He admits he's flunked in certain areas, unlike certain people he's prepared to admit he's made mistakes and he's learning just as Stuart is ffs.

We should change the name to Doom & gloom FC. Nothing is ever taken at face value or is right for some people.

I don't like the sound of the guy myself but lets at least give the guy a chance ffs. He's delivered so far on most things, SM as manager, cheap ST's.

Like we should with Stuart, see what we are like this time next year.

Who delivered on cheap season tickets and Stuart as manager?

Perhaps taking things at face value fucked this club up in the first place. Anyways, prepared to give him a chance. Only problem is if he fucks that up we're screwed. We've used up more lives than a cat.

Just to be clear he isn't just talking about Stuart.

In a revealing interview, Lawn discusses his first six months sharing power at Valley Parade alongside Julian Rhodes.

I helped create that feeling of warmth and change because it was needed. The club was out on its feet so why shouldn't we be happy to turn things round?

"Why wouldn't you be happy about having the cheapest season ticket in the league and paying £6 to watch a game when Leeds United are paying up to £36?

"Why shouldn't you be happy about having a club that's debt-free at long last? And why shouldn't you be happy about getting one of your long-lost heroes back as manager?

I understand his point. However I have issues with the inferral that he is responsible for it all, he isn't. Clearing the debt is all well and good but I have doubts as to the current debt status. Only way to prove that is open up the accounts. Perhaps more frank discussion about what the break-even figures are would give greater reassurances than "I've paid the overdraft off".

Sorry but I just have too many reservations about the situation the Club is in. This article is wrapped up in a back the manager headline to play to the fans. When we make a profit at the year end accounts I'll happily admit I was wrong. tup:

So do you think Jules was alone in delivering Macca and cheap ST's? Its Lawns investment that has enabled JR to do that. He's earned the chance to make a change hasn't he? How many chances has Julian had?

Read Dutch and Zonnes reports from Montegnee, who's initiative is that? It could be a turkey or it could be a godsend for City but lets give the guy time to make his mark (no pun intended).

Stuart McCall was already the next city manager before Todd went. He said so himself at the fans forum and he credited the man who brought him back to us, if you remember.

The season tivcket offer was mooted way before Lawn made contact about realistic investment.

Granted we'd have had these as well as a whopping overdraft had he not turned up but they aren't his to take credit for.

Don't understand your pessimism about the guy SFB. I know he comes across as a Del-Boy type but i still think he deserves to be allowed the time to put his own mark on the club.

Like i say, the Montegnee relationship looks positive in substance so far.

The ST offer might have been mooted but Lawns investment surely made it a realistic proposition and therefore he should take as much credit as JR or anyone.

Like I said it would have happened anyway but we would still have had "debts" had Lawn not come in.

Yes I'll give him the Montegnee stuff, but shouldnb't Mega take some credit for that as well.

Perhaps I have seen him in a different light to you. He strikes me as a Richmond without the charm and charisma. Which in my book comes across as a bully boy. His treatment of the chap at the fans forum who was merely asking how fans can help (realistically) was attrocious. An article cheering on the gaffer doesn't make him all sweetness and light in my eyes and also doesn't make him a Branson style businessman. Still, each to their own eh?

I'm sure me and Chucks will get shouted down by the masses.

He has not got the track record that GR has if you get my drift - and is a genuine supporter, he may lack the charm (but when has that got us anywhere?) and charisma but he's not done too badly for himself.

Try these:

They maybe don't convey fully the tone of voice but it doesn't read too badly.

I have to say I agree completely, and I know many others do too. I remember coming back from that forum thinking ML was abit of a twat, in fact I posted it on here (post #20 - http://www.claretandbanter.co.uk/showthread.php?t=15130).

I can't believe I said this though "I'm not saying he's been dishonest, pretty much everything he said was probably right"

Talinn, the guy in question asked a question about how supporters can get involved in helping City, in terms of financial or business input. Bear in mind this is my opinion but I know several who would totally agree with me.

The response was a lesson on business improv and how to put people in their place, so to speak. He asked this guy, well, I say asked but it didn't sound like a question to me. What do you do? The guy kind of flustered by a response to a question with a question and one that was a bit strange and perhaps personal anyway, hesitated and Lawn upped the aggression ante and bellowed what do you do at him. I was a civil servant was the response. And the reply from Lawn, ah admin. Condescending, patronising, insulting, misinformed. A typical response from this guy that came across as a bullyboy businessman, fair play if that's how he's got there but he won't have my support if that's how he wants to treat loyal customers and fans who have probably been supporting HIS team since before he was in shitty nappies.

What ensued was a speech about the "friends of city", a scheme that mooted at the right time and in response to the right question is worthy of credit, but one that we are yet to see the fruits of. No response to the question, and a guy left bewildered as well as no doubt insulted by the way he was spoken at and by the lack of respect he was given.

Still, I'm sure he'll make a reet chairman, dead fan-friendly he is y'know, he even laid on a bbq when flogging season tickets. All pr exercises and all for his own glory, as I see it. No selfless acts of fantastic customer relations. Maybe I'll take him up on his offer and drop him a line and see what his response is. If it's more than two words I'll let you know! ;)

From that post he sounds a right cnut. A good saying is
"remember the folks you meet on your way up will be the ones you meet on your way down".

Being civil costs nowt, but on here its a waste of time twots:D
