It looks like the latest Odsal spectacular is starting to look dead in the water with Sports minister Gerry Sutcliffe describing it as "pure folly". This could turn out to be the way forward for City and indeed the Bully boys. With two teams each averaging 10 to 12 thousand in a normal season it would make sense to ground share. The Bully boy fans would hate it but Valley Parade is really the only option. Odsal would cost a fortune to upgrade and how could a brand new stadium in the Aire valley for instance be funded? There really could be a case for Odsal to be sold for building or tipping and the Bulls moving into Valley Parade with joint tenancy. If the council could buy the ground off Gordon Gibb we could then pay a much reduced ground rent and share the rent with the Bulls. If it came off it would be the financial turning point for City.

Sorry the council has no money, its mine and your money and not a penny should be spent on private businesses.

2 succesfull sporting teams wound benefit the city and the council (eventually). If sharing VP would help both then why not.
Who actually owns Odsal? If it is the council then surely they could make enough from that to buy VP?

Hmm, good point Dutch. Problem is our wise council chose to give it to the Bulls and pay them millions so that they could run it as opposed to the council keeping up to safety standards in the future. Good innit?!

Wykie the council have spent lots of yours and my money on the Bulls. If the Odsal village scheme comes off they will literally be spending millions on a private company -the Bulls. They will paper over it by saying it is for the community and not just for the Bulls ,but the bottom line is the Bulls will be the benificary by about 95%. I'm not sure just who owns Odsal ,but flogging it for housing or tipping would finance the ground share and rid the council of a massive headache.

If the money comes from selling Odsal then I have no objectionstup:but I bet the Bulls fans would.
