for those who dont get the T & A
it will be interesting to see which City turn up against Chesterfield tomorrow after those comments from the gaffer.. Well said Stu.. tup:
Stu has played it softly softly with the players, maybe it's time for him to kick ass. I would get the teller jawdrop: from the omb to have a chat with them :jerry:
On a serious note, perhaps the club is in the shit again and the players are going through the motions. Stu wouldnt be able to tell them he will replace them when they know that he's got no money to play with. :sorry:

Some City fans have a certain softspot for McCall I understand. He cant do no wrong but unfortunately its all based on past glories which really have no relevance on todays things.
Why not dig up Jimmy Spiers and give him a go when McCall gets the bullet.

Don't get me wrong, I think McCall isn't in the slightest to blame for the fact we are playing shit in the bottom division of the football league with a group of players who would be out of their depth in the Unibond. But when the same was applicable when Colin Todd was manager and all the woes of the club were down to him I am at a loss to underestand why Stuart McCall isn't to blame for similar problems a division lower. ? Maybe those who constantly called for Todd's removal actually knew Fuck all, perish the thought. Maybe, just maybe the problem might run deeper than who's in the dugout??

Turd was a different manager altogether - if you were not in his band of followers then you were knackered as far as getting a game.
I do think a fair few of the squad have underperformed this season ,leading to more pressure - ie the defence in reality has had more to cope with because of the midfield being missing bar the odd game like Peterborough at VP.
The best spell Todd had was that 5 game winning run, when he had put together a squad from the remnants of admin - the focus was clear then and the fans backed the team to the maximum - but after that he adopted something like a seige mentality that alienated many supporters.

So you'd rather be a division lower not picking up the points with a legend in charge than a division higher picking up the points with a "seige mentality" albeit with a twat in charge?
Personally I'd rather be in the Championship treading water with anybody in charge, which if it wasn't for Julian Rhodes, we would be.

Treading water in the Championship would be very agreeable lol

Really?? Seems the same is happening with the current squad too..Players coming into the side for a game playing well then never getting in when Senior players are fit..
Dave is right also about the two facedness of folk accepting Macca having a pop at players when Todd was hammered for it...
Same shit different day.. At least Randers FC are doing well tup:

There's one small flaw in yours and big Dave's comparison of your adopted father....(are you two really the Chuckle Bros? )
...I doubt anyone in cyberspace was jumping on Turds back this early in his first season, do you?.....not anyone I know on here or who i go to games with did anyhow...
Time to judge Macca will be this time next season....If theres no improvement then yes, then we will then question his managerial capabilities and rightly so...
Turd had 3 seasons here in which he gradually took us backwards every season....all this with a 20 goal a season striker in the team as well, imagine where we might be now with Deano in Macca's team eh?
Surely the Chuckle Bro's can see this unless they are merely point scoring against some of the locals?:poo:
....same shit, different day?

I'm not two faced Tony - I backed Todd when he took over - we had no choice other than to do so really - that 5 game winning run will live long in the memory - as will full backs never crossing the half way line.
Todds biggest failing was his inability to handle criticism without rounding on those who dared question him - he alienated himself from pretty much everyone in the end.
McCall has the fans with him and that's only to be expected given his fantastic playing career here - I don't know him personally so can't comment other than what we see in and around VP - but he seems to be able to handle the flak in the right way - his post match interview with Derm yesterday was an example of this.
There's no guarantee with any manager but I have not wished for any City manager to succeed more than McCall.

Fine..
But Todd got griefed for doing simillar and just cos Macca is more popular doesn't make it right..
Todd also guarenteed us League One Football... No matter what anyone says about that..
Now the League One part isn't Maccas fault. I do want him to succeed at the club but for me in the same way folk hated Todd for rounding on the players after defeats (something that i like a manager to do btw) Macca seems to make excuses and tries too hard to apologise for poor performances.
It gets pretty boring to read how we were unlucky with this decision or that one, how we had all the chances but no goals..
I cannot remember how long it is since i rounded on a manager of this club but have some fookin balls Stu and tell it like it is instead of sounding like you are just saying what folk want to hear..
We are not scoring we defend badly sometimes due to having a player with the turning circle of an Eddie Stobbart truck in at centre half... Wethers is no good in that position against a player with pace and that puts a lot of pressure on Clarke..
Our central midfield lacks a leader and someone with an eye for a killer pass..
I can see that and so can everyone else so why not stop arseing about making excuses and say it as it is...Playing the same way with the same players and getting the same performances then making the same excuses shows a bad trait in his make up for me..
But that is just IMHO...

Captain Beige : "hmmm - Captain_Beige says boring football is the way forward. 0-0? Yes, fantastic result!
Now if only those firkin fans would get off Captain_Beige's back then....."
Captain_Beige's PA : "excuse me Colon, urgent phone call for you.."
JR : "Colin, you're employment here has been terminated with immediate effect, I have sent security to escort you from the stadium. Your personal belongings will be posted on to you.
Captain_Beige : "Julian, I don't know what I'm doing, please give me more time to alienate the fans"
JR : "security should be at the door now, please leave quickly, quietly and with minimum fuss"
Captain Beige : "Julia? Jules? Come on, you can't sack me, who can you get instead? Wethers?"
JR : "Please leave now, Colin. *hangs up*
Captain_Beige (to camera) : "as I was saying... Now if only that firkin chairman would get off Captain_Beige's back then....."
