Eagles - New CD

After a few disparaging remarks on here i thought i'd stick up for one of my favourite bands.

After 28 years the Eagles have managed to put their arguments and rampaging egos and substance habits aside for long enough to produce a double CD which is to my mind of the high standards of their previous multi million selling product.

The first CD is of the earlier country-rock style that made them famous with writing credits as usual by cohort JD Souther. A couple of superb vocal performances by Tim Schmitt accompany the usual quality of Frey & Henley.

CD2 is more like the Eagles of 'The Long Run' era with Joe Walsh' guitar to the fore. The 10 minute epic title track kicks off the disc and it doesn't disappoint.

In summing up, if your a fan, its been well worth the wait as the production, songwriting and musicianship is as tight as ever. I wasn't sure if they would be able to maintain their high standards with so much water under the bridge but on this showing they still cut it. Just not another 28 year wait please.jump:jump:

I saw the eagles at Huddersfields stadium 11 years ago....50,000 folk there that day and it was awesome...Joe Walsh....mad as a hatter but one of the guitar greats without a doubt.
