Would he agree to get involved in some capacity? Perhaps he thinks he is better off at Guiseley?

Why? I think our football management team has great potential. Were they given encouragement to do the job properly.

He knows the Unibond inside out though, so maybe in a couple of years.

He knows this level of football, loves the club and has experience, I think he would have been a much better appointment at assistant manager than Jakes and would proabably not have made the same mistakes with assessing players. Or underestimating the division. We are struggling because of clueless amateurism at every level, and unfortunately McCall is part of that through no fault of his own, because he has never managed a club before. If he had gone to Wolves, Crystal Palace, got the Sheff U job I am sure he would be doing much better because even despite his inexperience he would have a decent scouting team, money, a competent board and backroom staff to help him. At City its clear there is nothing, and he is making mistakes that an experienced hand alongside him might have been able to prevent, at least have one man at the club who knows anything about running one?

Been saying it for months.Check Dolans record at City it was awesome. He had success at Rochdale and York who he almost got to the play offs. He was released in a cost cutting exercise at York and they were relegated soon after. If Bryan Robson had done as well at city as Dolan did in the late 80s,Robson would have been touted as next England manager.(They both took over at City when they were bottom of what is now the championship).

It depends what you mean by success ?

Dolans record at the back end off 86/87 was brilliant and the 87/88 was the same but the 88/89 was not anything to crow about was it ?

Ask any Hull fan what they think about him ?

Dolan took us to the 1987/88 play offs in what is now the championship, after saving us from certain relegation in 1986/87. For good measure he also took us to 2 league cup quater finals and to the 5th round of FA Cup. I think we would be happy with that these days.He was sacked in 1998/99 when we were mid table in the league after knocking out Spurs in FA cup round 3 but losing to Hull in the 4th round mainly because Jack Tordoff who was chairman at the time was obsessed by Terry Yorath who turned out to be hopeless.

Spot on Grumpy tup:

Dolan would have probably took us into the top flight over ten years before Jagger did if JT had give him the funds to splash out on Keith Curle, Andy Townsend and Terry Connor(?)
