Watched it tonight and thought it was a decent film tbh..
Would of maybe liked it to of gone into a bit more detail on Carltons life but quite chilling when you realise that the actions of your family and friends could indirectly mess up your life..
Also be very careful who you mug off on the phone thinkiing you are safe..
That poor gobsite Pizza bloke...Ouch....
Worth a watch for those who haven't already..

Funniest review.. Do you think this fella is related to Jonnyd and his chick loving films ??? Only joking JD!!!
A repugnant gangland romp in which a group of Neanderthalic, perpetually gurning ruffians get tooled up with axe handles, baseball bats and Stanley knives then knock ten bells out of each other for just shy of two hours. Based on a true story, the ‘Rise’ of the title refers to the ‘meteoric’ ascent of mockney street tough, Carlton Leach (Ricci Harnett), from middle-rung football hooligan to, er, club doorman. Leach is then unceremoniously swept aside as the film hastily attempts to give the Rettendon Range Rover murders a once-over in its scrappy second half. There is fun to be had deconstructing writer-director Julian Gilbey’s laughable join-the-dots yob patois, as every sentence seems to start with an, ‘I’m gonna fackin’…’ or ‘You fackin’…’ or, on occasion, ‘So then I only went an’ fackin’…’, typically concluded with a mandatory ‘caaaant!’ The direction, too, smacks of sadism, especially the obvious glee Gilbey gets from filming violent scenes in close-up and, in the case of the bloody shotgun-to-the-face denouement, in triplicate.
Carlton Leach (Ricci Harnett), Thought Ricci Harnett was very good in this...Only seen him play mentally ill folk before and in smaller things... Does a good turn as a hard man..

Fairbrass is just his usual nutter self in this but he does make your squirm when he uses the pizza slicer on that chopsey caaaaaaaaaaant loljawdrop:

Just seen the trailer on You Tube .....looks good.
Might take our lass to see it ....there's only one movie genre that we BOTH like and that's the good old British gangster.

Well i think you should both like this as it does what it says on the tin...
Like i said i would have liked to have seen more time spent on Carltons life. Flits through too fast but that is my only complaint..
Did you see Gangster No1???
Quality film....

Yeah sounds like something we would like to watch. What happens with the pizza cutter? How much blood is there? vomit:
I've tried finding it at the cinema but it isn't showing? Has it already been shown or not?
Looks like Kingdom may be our next film.

Also want to see kingdom..Watched Jodie Foster in The Brave One...I reckon you and JD will like it...
Not a chick flick as such more like a female Charles Bronson vigilante film without the real gore...
Watchable if folk are tempted..

Have you seen Essex Boys? Quite a good film as long as you can tolerate Sean Bean for a few hours.
Is that Kingdom film any good, off to cinema tonight but planned on seeing that Jodie Foster film, will be off to see Saw 4 when it comes out.
