I didnt know him,but he always had a good debate about City.
He only announced he was ill a couple of weeks ago, prior to that,Terrynewpack posted a thread, where he said,he had visited the Doctors for the first time in 40 years,2 weeks earlier.

My thoughts are with his family and heres hoping he is watching the 1911 cup winning team on the big football pitch in the sky.

My sympathies to his family. Messageboards are odd places, where relationships exist with people you've never met. I am sure Terry was respected by all on here.

Rest easy Terry.

Devastating news, although as has been said, he was only known by most through this message board.

It's such a strange feeling as he was on here only a few days ago.

Thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Sad news indeed. Like most on here I didn't know Terry except by his postings and I thought what a brave thing it was for him to announce on here that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Then he kept on posting in the usual way.He must have had a great attitude.RIP Terry.

Well done Terry for still posting on here as recently as 6 days ago.

Doesn't his name originate from being former landlord of the New Pack Horse at Cleckheaton? Anybody know him from there?

I went back to look at Terry's posts. Since the one I quote below, I don't think he moaned or mentioned his illness at all. I think his post makes a fitting epitaph for Terry .

3 or 4 weeks ago I was diagnosed with incurable lung cancer. 40 years of no visits to the doctor and then when you go its the worst possible news. Nothing they can do and its just a question of time.
I went to the game on Saturday experienced a bit of agony and also think I had overdosed on the Morphine. Almost lost my sense of balance, could hardly stand up or walk.

10 minutes of the pain I have to put up with and I guarantee you that most of you would stop smoking instantly. They were definitely not kidding when they wrote on the packet about 'Smoking Kills'. I stopped 3 years ago but obviously not early enough.

Ciggie anyone??tdwn:

RIP - very sad when anyone dies, but altho i and most of us didn't know him on here he was part of this "community" which we are all part of - and as such it seems to make it that little bit more sadder!!

Condolences to family and friends of Terrys!

We never met him, but he was one of us, part of what we are on here and despite the anonomity that posting on a message board gives you, we have sufferd a loss on C&B and it puts lots of the fratching and moaning about nothing into perspective.

I considered him one of the more clued up members of this forum and such always made a beeline for his posts.

It goes without saying amongst his loved ones his loss will be felt enormously, but I don't exagerrate to say the regular posters on this forum have today suffered a bereavement.

RIP Terry and God bless.

I am very saddened at this news, never met Terry, or not that I knew of, I've met lots of City fans and not known everyone by their name. I echo the thoughts already posted on here, and despite the anonymity it feels like we've lost one of our brothers.

I have occasionally frequented the New Pack, playing football in the Cleckheaton area and may have been served by Terry at some point (I'm sure he told me he used to be the landlord). It is a small world after all. I'm glad you managed to see the return of McCall, Terry, keep an eye out for our results and if you can have a word with the Big Man see if he can help us out with a win or 2.

RIP.
