This is how this works.

Below is a list of the players in the current squad. They all start off with 25 points. You have to cast 5 votes - 2 players to receive a point and 3 players to lose a point. You can vote for whatever reason you like - performances in the match, whether you fancy them or not, whatever.

You can only vote once a day. In order to vote, first of all list the players you are voting for, and then cut and paste the list suitably altered to take account of your vote.

If a player falls below zero points they are evicted from the stadium. If for whatever reason they leave the team they are evicted from the stadium.

If new players are added to the squad they will enter the stadium, but their initial points will reflect the proportion of the season left, ie if they come in half way through the season they will start off with 12 points.

Let's see who's left as the winner come the end of it.

Any player in the squad might get called in to action, so I thought the fairest thing was to list them all. And I thought DutchBantam might yell at me if we missed out Luke O'Brian.

There are 27 players listed who started off with 25 points each. That's a total starting points tally of 675. Every time someone votes then a point is knocked off that, so 675 votes will be needed to totally clear them out - probably more like 650 votes because the eventual winner will have some points left.

If 10 people regularly vote each day it's going to take a couple of months to get through it, at which point we can start again if wanted. I'd no idea whether it was going to take off or not when I started it, so it was a guess as to how to set the points and voting. If we want to do it on a vote after each game of the season then I can do some calculations on how it needs to be structured, but we'd need to start again.

44 games left, not counting cup matches. If 10 people vote after each match then that represents 440 points deducted. If we take it down to 20 players then they would need to start off at 22 points each for it to finish at somewhere near the end of the season.

Does that sound more preferable? If you want to do it like this then comment on here, and also indicate if you want to take part in the voting so I can set the starting points total to work out.

I think I prefer starting again and making it a season long thing myself.

I'm easy both ways.

However perhaps it should be bi-weekly so that poeple can take into account reserve and youth games. Say for example Osbourne gets a squad number, scored 5 in the youth team on Saturday then a hat-trick for the reserves on the Tuesday... you would think he'd be worth a few positive votes but if done once per week he may be overlooked by the players playing in the first team.
Conversely if say Harban has a shocker in the reserves on Tuesday, gives away 4 goals and gets sent off then he'd deserve a fair few deductions.

Also don't forget midweek first team games.

So I'd go for 2 periods per week.
Wednesday - Friday
and
Saturday - Tuesday.

And your assumption Baldy would probably have been correct !!!

PS~ I would be tempted to add in Leon Osbourne, Luke Sharry and possibly even Aidey Bellamy as youth players who have an outside chance of getting a squad number.

Tie it into games and that way we can see how people rate the players on their performances, otherwise I would vote for the same people every day until the next game and hence they could be out before they can put it right.

Dutch's idea isn't bad where we can vote twice a week, how you do that I don't know.

It has to be relatively simple to administer.

Right, some unilateral decision making. These are the rules and intentions:

All 27 players listed will be included in the starting line up. That's the official squad at the start of the season. If a player is introduced in to the official squad at any time then he will enter the competition on the average score at the time. If a player leaves the squad he will be evicted from the stadium.

Voting will take place after every first team League match. Same as we have done - vote for 2 positives and 3 negatives.

On the presumption that approximately 10 people will vote each time, that means that the starting points total needs to be at 460 points - with 27 players that works out at 17 points per player.

This is not about ultimate fairness. If a player is languishing in the reserves or youth team, the simple fact is that he is not going to catch the eye as much as the regular first team. Such is life - the Big Brother Valley Parade Stadium is a harsh environment which takes no prisoners and spares no mercies.

It has to be relatively simple to administer.

Right, some unilateral decision making. These are the rules and intentions:

All 27 players listed will be included in the starting line up. That's the official squad at the start of the season. If a player is introduced in to the official squad at any time then he will enter the competition on the average score at the time. If a player leaves the squad he will be evicted from the stadium.

Voting will take place after every first team League match. Same as we have done - vote for 2 positives and 3 negatives.

On the presumption that approximately 10 people will vote each time, that means that the starting points total needs to be at 460 points - with 27 players that works out at 17 points per player.

This is not about ultimate fairness. If a player is languishing in the reserves or youth team, the simple fact is that he is not going to catch the eye as much as the regular first team. Such is life - the Big Brother Valley Parade Stadium is a harsh environment which takes no prisoners and spares no mercies.
