To anyone who went to Shrewsbury, did the team show any ray of hope or was it as bad as it sounded on the radio? For me despite selling Windass and having fantastic ticket sales the board have let Stuart down with what must be one of the lowest wage budgets in the division.Surely people must have hoped for better than Conlon,Williams,Nix, Rhodes, and some of the other scratters we have signed. I really hoped for the likes`of Brandon,Paynter and maybe Simon Francis.

It's all blow out of proportion at the moment, we've played 2 league games we still have another 44 to go. Last season we got off to a flyer and it turned to shyte, hopefully after the team has a chance to gell we will start to perform and pick up points. Look at Spurs they were in crisis this morning, 6 hours later and everyone's happy.

This team will come good under Macca's leadership but it will take time.

Whole squad has played no more that 3 games together at a competitive level. They weren't going to turn teams over from day one, this team needs to gel.

Even Man Ure aren't having it all their own way at the moment.

The Shrews are a well fancied team this season -- apart from the 1st 20 min there was not much difference in the teams (from the commentary) so I am sure we will settle in, improve and hold our own in this league

Just got back from the game, b4 they scored it was even, but after the penalty we didnt seem to be able to even make a couple of simple passes for the next 20 minutes. But towards the end of the 1st half and most of the 2nd we were well on top in terms of possesion but just didnt make the most of it.

Heckingbottom hit the inside of the post late in the 1st half, if that went in it would have been completley different game, think if we actually get a goal infront we might see a different team be we just always seem to be chasing it.

2nd half Rhodes had a one on one and fired just wide unfortunatley it was on his right foot, Nsungu looked lively and had a few little runs but there was never really anyone making a run off him to pass it to.

We did put some good pressure on towards the end but it was just a bit 2 late, Daley had a shot which was heading into the bottom corner well saved and then Evans's deflected shot looked destined to go in but the keeper just got a finger tip to it.

We put a few crosses in the box but no joy, all in all it wasnt a terrible performance but we just dont look like we can buy a goal from open play at the moment. Beerbantam will be happy to hear that Wetherall was probably our best player, won everything in the air did some great ushering of the ball out and saved us a with a couple of last ditch blocks tup:

I felt our biggest problem today was that we were giving the ball away too easily. It wasn't brilliant but i've seen all 3 games so far and i'm not too worried. I thought we performed well against Wolves on Weds. Time will tell.

i listened on AM (bought a DAB radio so I could pick it up and then discovered it was only available in and around Bradford anyway) and i was very surprised to see the BBC say we had 18 attempts on goal to their 12.

How anonymous was Joynes? Did Conlon make a big difference once Stu made the change?

Too many people think we just have to turn up on the pitch and we'll walk this league, it just isn't the case.

The gulf in quality between league's 1 and 2 isn't that much, look at how many league 2 sides have gone up and done well in league 1 the year after, we were never just going to go down and start whipping everyone right away.

Shrewsbury did well last year and are a fairly settled team, we are half a team who were shocking last year and are trying to fit in another half to play with them, it will take time before it gels and I'm more than prepared to give them that.
