Is anybody who has entered a team into the Fantasy Football League interested in putting a tenner in the pot for a winner takes all prize League? I will create another league and post the code on here for people wanting to play for cash and set a paypal account up to which I will give Baldy and/or Basel the log on and password so the site owners can see that any money in there remains untouched.
I suggest that at least five people will be needed to make it interesting and so far there is confirmed interest from myself, baldy and JD. I will set the league and paypal address up when there are five nailed on entrants. The more the merrier though and it would be great if everybody who has entered a team in the C&B League wanted to have a go. Just think how high the stakes would be if you thought you were going to win a couple of hundred quid or so next May
Closing date for entries and money paypalled to the paypal addy is, shall we say 10 O'clock on the morning of Saturday 11th August.

Chicken. Mind you if everyone had chance to see my team, they'd not want to go against me with money at stake either.
Hope you're not suggesting I would be dishonest with the money BTW Mr P, I'd have thought you had more class than that.

Where have I said anything to make you think that?...You getting paranoid in your old age or what? tdwn:
I can't be arsed entering the comp if your running it because you will invariably find something to moan about if things aren't going your way, a bit like the prediction league when you tried and failed to make a mockery of it last season over something that at the end of the day was only a bit of fun on an internet m/b.
God know's what you will be like when there's money at stake!

In what way did I make a mockery of it?
As I recall, I said with the withdrawal of the tie breaker questions that the competition was stacked in the favour of folk going for majority home wins, which was evident the season before. I was told this was nonsense and proved my point to such an extent...surprise surprise, another competition was introduced when I was in front of the Prediction League played by the original rules.
It was my ban from the site that stopped my participation in that competition last year. Why would I spit the dummy, when I was in front? I declined to participate in the other competition, because that wasn't what I entered in the first place
I'm not offering to run any competition, merely do the work to set it up. The rules are set by the Premier League Fantasy Football Website. So your only concern would be, if the money was safe, hence I felt I had the right to ask the question.

The managed prediction league was only introduced to appease you when you started to pick home wins only, thus taking any fun out of it!
I wasn't doing too badly and i picked just as many draws and away wins, that why i won the managed league when they introduced more points for away wins.
It was only a bit of fun anyway in my eyes, couldn't care less who won but you wanted to prove your point which spoilt it for some, not me though i hasten to add.
Thats why i don't want to join a fantasy league that your running, especially where money's involved as i feel you will eventually try to ruin that also!

What titles that then?
Surely not the prediction league that you chickened out of when your home wins only strategy was rendered useless by the managed league?
Who won them both again?

Original prediction league and fantasy football. Would have won both but for the ban. But no point crying over spilled milk is there?

Ahhh but my Ban was a more than just a couple of days for saying a naughty word or two wasn't it? There was nowt stopping me doing the Fantasy one I suppose, only lack of enthusiasm. What's point of being top dog if you can't come on here and brag about it??

Parrot, for your information Chuckle won't be actually running anything. All that happens is that your team is entered in to the League he sets up with a code and then it scores points as per the Premiership Fantasy Football rules, which are given out remotely and automatically.
It doesn't actually need another league setting up other than for neatness, because you could just make a list of people who had put their tenners forward and just see which one came top in the existing C&B League.

I'm game, but a tenner seems the amount that would attract more people and the more that play makes it more interesting. The only way to make it above board would be to make sure the money is banked and in the paypal account before Saturday's first game kicks off.
So We have Baldy, J.D, Me,Poulton (if we get a 100 quid in) Yeadon (if I lend him a tenner) King Billy. Prize fund stands at 60 quid or higher if anyone is willing to up the stakes.
Anymore got the conviction and confidence to back their selections up with cold hard cash??

I agree that £10 is about right. Makes it not too much to lose and makes it so anyone can afford it! If 15 or 20 people come in it will be a nice prize at the end of the season. (For me ;))

I have a vacant league already set up, as there were no takers at work at all. It's called Sweepstakers FF, which pretty much describes what we would be doing.
I'm in for a tenner.
Shall I post the join code?
Somebody else can manage the money. I don't know how to do that.

Would rather have something with a name connected to the C&B site Mr Zee to be honest. Unless there is facilities to change the name.
There'll be no money management just paypal account that I will initially set up and then pass the details on to somebody trustworthy to independently adjudicate. Now we have got more than five I will get to work on it this evening. If I am lending Aidy a tenner, can someone lend SFB one?
Just so everything is crystal clear, Paypal will probably take a small percentage of the money (a few pence) so everybodies tenner, will actually be 9 quid something. When entry closes I will give the total prize fund.
Now we have to decide is it winner takes all or do we have a runner up and third place prize too?
I go for Winner takes all, but will happily go with the majority.
Id go for top 3
1....60%
2.....25%
3.....15%

The only trouble is with that, if we get only six or seven entrants, then nearly half the contenders get a prize.
What about ten or more entrant's three prizes, nine or under Winner takes all?

Pay Pal doesn't particularly like me either, in that I can't remember my original account details and it won't let me set another one up with my current banking card, so I might have to see you during the season to give you a tenner Dave, or post you a cheque or something.
I'm not really that fussed how the prize money is distributed either way, but if I'm voting then winner takes all.

I hadn't seen that. You didn't say you were going to set one up. I'll go scrap my league, although I thought the name Claretandginger was better.
And I vote for 3 prizes, to keep interest going at season's end in case there is one runaway leader. It would be more interesting to keep people involved if they had a chance of a podium and a prize. It's more incentive to keep updating your team.

No it was important to have something in the title connecting the league with the C&B site. The clue was in the bit where I say; Something Connected to the C&B site, the bit connecting it to the site being the part of the League name that say's C&B, what with the league being directly connected and only open to folk, who are already in, the C&B league that Baldy set up.
