Straight to the bank to get the money into the account hopefully. £150, 000 for a 38 year old player at a League two club is excellent money. Yes it is deano, our leading scorer for last few years, but that money will be of more use in the long run than Deano

As long as the wages arent for him as a manager i'm not bothered. Although JR shot himself in the foot (not for the first time) by putting Deano and Wethers on long contracts for older players

With Wetherall maybe!

Deano's signing was a good one!

Who else could boast the long term signing of the most prolific striker in the lower leagues??

suddenly wetherall seems to be being touted as a crap player as well as manager, some people have short memories.

Wetherall was being touted as a crap player before he had aspirations of becoming a crap manager!!

i don't think we can totally condemn him as a crap manager after all he did was end what colin started, give him a break, we were down way before i could see it couldn't anyone else?

Its the lack of effort that Wethers got from them thats worrying!

take your point but the writing was on the wall ages before and do you honestly think another manager would have brought about a miraculous escape?

I said all along that Orient would lose their last 2 games(and they did) two out of three winable games was all we needed - wethers bottled it and never went for it - he didnt even have any attacking options on the bench!tdwn:

Do you think even Deano wouldnt have had the players fired up for the last 3 games??

he gave us a lifeline with a win at brighton, but we needed two consecutive wins which was never ever going to happen look at our form since say christmas or earlier. anyway i take your points and we just have differing views, like i say i can understand in a way whjat you're saying, but i will give him a go. on the windass thing i think we could get more than that for him but then again his age etc maybe it would be good business. i would hope it goes on new signings ??? it's decent business now we're down it was woefully crap business when they did it mid season though. obviously.

I'll bet you £150,000 that he doesn't have a link Deano :-)

Like some other folk on here, repeat it often enough and it becomes the truth !!

The Hull VitalFootball link does not say anywhere that Hull have tabled a £150,000 bid. It merely quotes the Sunday People conjecturing that Bradford City have placed this valuation on Deano. If that is indeed City's valuation, it is unlikely that Hull will end up paying that much after the negotiation process.

"Bradford City, who were relegated to League 2 after letting their leading score join the Tigers on loan have placed a £150,000 price tag on the veteran striker according to the Sunday People."

It's likely the Hull manager is going to sod off to Newcastle to work with Sam Allardyce again, a new guy might not want Windass.

That's true but, as is quite often the case with newspaper stories, the headline is not backed up by the story.

Any new Hull manager will want Windass because if he doesn't go all the fans will be pissed off. They already consider him their player. If the new manager did not sign windass, he would immediatley be unpopular.

Paper talk only, same nonsense that stated Windass was on 7500k per week,
same nonsense that said City are 16million in debt and we are going into Admin.
Give me quotes, I'll believe you, if it's paper talk , it's not worth the paper it's wrote on. Otherwise it's all oinions of what we believe may happen

Now my opininon is..
Windass is our player for two more years, Hull know he will score 15/20 next season, that is a long way to survival for them. They will pay up to 300,000k for him.

Windass is going to Hull on a free. Simply because Hull know all they have to do is send him back and Junior's arse will drop out and offer him for nothing to get him off of the wage bill. Given the facts are that as a third division club, they couldn't afford to pay him during the season it is unlikely that Junior wants to pay him the same unaffordable wages close season when there is no money coming in prior to a season in Division 4 with reduced income.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there are far better footballers than Deano, internationals in fact that have moved clubs without fees at younger than 38 Years old.

Ultimatley we dont and will never know the price as it will undisclosed.

However JR secured 100k minimum when for a 4 and a half month loan, and we're led to believe he secured upwards of 300k for JJ.

Granted we've gone down a division but which ever division we'd have been in, Windass would have gone to Hull City.

So i dont see much of a difference in the circumstances between now and January as we need the money just as much now (if not less so) than we did in January.
