After reading the FC United Promoted thread it made me wonder.

Is there any loyalty scheme in force for our club or any club you know of to where longer term fans are rewarded???

I remember how hard it was when we went to the Prem to get hold of season tickets due to a new influx of fans...

This left lifelong Season ticket City fans in some cases out in the cold...

Surely priority should come to those who have served the club long term rather than short term.

An initiative like that may sell a few more...

Not great numbers but as the club succeeded more and became either a top 6 strong side more would be enticed...

5 years continuous - 25% off for that season

10 years continuous - 50% off for that season

25 years continuous - 75% off for that season

50% years continuous - Martyrdom at City ffs...jump:

These are just examples but im sure you get the jist...

nice idea tony, in a perfect world eh? i would no longer get any discount, but quite rightly and it wouldn't bother me knowing that fans going week in week out are getting some recognition for their loyalty.

the prem was a fine example. i always wished they had done some loyalty scheme based on yrs before the prem and from memory i think they maybe did something like keeping records of away travel didn't they??? i was one of the ones who lost out on my old trafford ticket in the first season in the tombola draw i felt pretty pissed off having been to many many less illustrious venues prior to that in less fancy leagues. i ended up watching it in GR lounge at VP or summat! i'm sure there are many other examples experienced by others too.

That is different in my view...

Something that looks too good to be true, sounds to god to be true normally is just that ...If it were a standardised thing across the leagues which had to be enforced by new incoming chairmen then that would of been a great incentive..

The fact it wasn't only leaves a bitter taste to those who took advantage of the too good to be true offer...

The schemes i am talking about should be brought in by all clubs...Water tight schemes that are guarenteed as long as the club is in business. If it goes totally to the wall no one has lost anything unlike the 25 year sham...

It shows the clubs support and in a small way give something back for long term loyalty..

If (using Bradford as the example) get promoted to the Prem for example then the Season ticket window opens a week earlier for 5 and above year season ticket renewees...

This ensures the folk who have always been there are first to be there again instead of a free for all..

Now im sure some will ask how that benefits the fan who goes to the same amount of games if not more but doesnt buy the Season ticket due to tight finances...

Well that is why we have tickets for each home game...Each season you send in your every home ticket etc....

It will not happen across the board as alot of clubs what profit and do not care about rewarding loyal fans...

Thats actually a top idea T. Also i think it should be taken into account if say you have a year off, in the middle of a 10 year stint or something.

man united for many years used to have firstly a token scheme and they you had to cut a part of your ticket on stick it on a sheet. you were then given priority for the big cup games. it's all done by computer now. you even go up the list if you applied for a game but were unsucessful.

still works especially for the euro away games and will do if they get to the final. those that go to the lesser attractive games benefit and are rewarded for their loyalty.

Great idea and all good for customer relations.
Unfortunately presently City couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery so the chances of a fair loyalty scheme ever being introduced is just less than Nil.

Anyone remember the "Gold Club" (or whatever it was called) when we were in the Prem... I think that might have been the first of the scams.

Was that the one that got you priority on away tickets and travel?

You paid a fee and you got priority on all the away tickets - a bit like an away season ticket.....i'm sure it was a couple of hundred quid, and they knocked a few quid off the away tickets - so in theory you actually got your 200 nicka back in the way of discounts off the away tickets if you went to all or most of the away games - some i suppose would have taken the offer just to get the chance of tickets for Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal etc.....

Not actually a bad idea....

it was a good scheme - but like all things Bradford city - never had a PR team to back it up....

Compare us to the bulls and they are everywhere in this city - even bloody notice boards saying welcome to bfd - home of the bulls......

Works for them ...tho cos even Prawny defected faster than a rat up a drain pipe...

Here is a simple and cheap away game incentive from Fulham...Not hard or expensive ...

Away Day Scheme
Do you have what it takes to be the LG - Fulham Away Fan of the Year?

Thanks to our friends at LG, Fulham Football Club have developed our first Away Day Loyalty Scheme, which rewards Fulham fans who support the team by attending away fixtures.

How it works:

Fulham fans will earn points throughout this season for each away fixture they attend. Points will be weighted based on distance to travel, grading of match and timing of the match ie Saturday afternoon v’s Monday night.

Once Fulham fans register for their first away ticket of the season they will automatically be entered into the competition. For each subsequent away fixture they attend points will be added to their personal tally. Please note that you must use your client reference number to buy away tickets at the Ticket Office to receive your points.

Each month an ‘LG Away Fan of the Month’ will be selected based on attendees at away fixtures for that month. This lucky Fulham fan will receive a Fulham ball signed by the FFC first team squad, with their details published on fulhamfc.com.

At the end of each month a league table will also be shown on fulhamfc.com with the top twenty away fans displayed.

At the end of the season the fan with the most amount of points will be named LG Fulham Away Fan of the Year and will receive an LCD TV thanks to LG. If there is a tie at the end of the year or after each month a random winner will be drawn.

So do you have the commitment?

So do you jus win that title then?

Plus is this on the basis that you live outside craven cottage? For e.g., what if you live in middlesborough but go to see the away match versus chelsea, do you get the same amount of points as a fulham based fan? What about if you play middlesborough and newcastle away in one month and had darlo away in the cup in between, this middlesborough based fan could win the title for that month but not go to any other away fixtures...

My post on the OMB about this earlier today....

Loyalty points are the answer. Lots of teams do it and there is advantages for both the club and fans.

Plus many more teams do this. Should be looked at over the summer and the Chesterfield ticket rush would be so much easier.

Are you talking about Bradford City?
Can't even get a pint never mind a loyalty point.
All good ideas but way beyond the IQ currently available to the thinking classes down there.
