So it's looking increasingly likely that football matches will start using 'Hawk Eye Technology' (used at Tennis and Cricket) for goal line decisions!

What are your thought on introducing such technology to the game?

For me, I think the goal-line technology will be fine and will help the game, the fact is if the ball crosses the line it's a goal and should count, goal-line technology will irradicate the mistakes currently being made.

My only worry is that it wont end there and people will start to call for more technology to see red card incidents, penalties, diving etc. which to my mind will ruin the game and slow it down.

So I'm for the idea, as long as it's just used for goal line decisions and nothing else!

Would have been useful for Todd... to see if his midfield crossed the halfway line.:)

HAHA...
I think it will be good for all decisions, as many games are won and lost by controversial decisions.
It probably would make the game slower though. I'm not sure how that problem can be overcome, though.

Spot on -- goal line decisions and nothing else -- All other decisions is Football -- take that away and you kill the game stone dead

How many times were we robbed of a pen???
How many time did we get one we should not have got???
Thats football!!!!

I don't want it in the game, I think part of the beauty of the game is that mistakes will be made. You make your own luck and it should all even itself out over the course of a season, 2 of the most used football cliches we hear on MOTD every week.

The only reason for technology being introduced is because of the over-analysis and maticulous scrutinization of every decision or incident by Sky. It's part of the game for refs to get things wrong or for offsides to be allowed to play on or for handballs not to be seen or for goals to be given where not all of the ball crossed the line etc.

I agree. Goal line decisions with hawk eye technology is fine.

If we introduced every element of technology into the game it would slow the game down dramatically and that takes the excitement out of the beautiful game.

If we wanted a dull, slow sport with constant stop and start interludes, we would be rugby fans.

I agree with SFB - no technology is needed IMO, leave the game be, its survived this long getting more popular and exciting without it!!

Leave the technology stop start replay shit for the MAHUSIVE GAYERS out there who like watching BIG MEN GRAPPLE each other to the ground (rugby league :poo: for those non-gayers out there)

Why use modern technology when you can do just a well without it.

After all those Ethiopian distance runners can beat everyone running without shoes.
