Don't know if anyone noticed this on teletext or in the papers yesterday, but when I saw it, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry:

"Cash strapped L***s have been handed £33,000.00 after applying to the council for "hardship relief".

The crisis club, bottom of the Championship have been granted the windfall after applying for help because they no longer receive the 'parachute payments' given to sides relegated from the Premiership.

L***s hief executive Shaun Harvey said;"The club still has to make payments to a number of playerswho have not played for the club since it was relegated"

Wonder if our council would be so acommodating if we applied for a similar handout, answers on a postcard please........................

If we change our name to Bradford Bulls or Bradford Kabbadi FC then maybe our wonderful Council might just toss us some lose change:rolleyes:

If you dig a bit deeper you will find the relief actually equates to £134,000.00 for the year. Now how much would that help City out if we could get sort of help?It would pay for one if not two players wages for the season.

Oh my God!
I live (when not at uni) in an area covered by Leeds City Council. Could that money not have been used to improve the standard of education, healthcare etc, rather than to fund a pompous football team using very old excuses.
