With an inspired appointment as manager, I'm sure that the pledge will be met.

Supporters urged to sign up

The Supporters' Trust are urging fans to show their faith in City following Colin Todd's sacking by joining the T&A cheap-ticket campaign.
With caretaker-boss David Wetherall calling for a "feelgood factor" at the club, they believe the best way to do that is by signing up to the 10,000 For Our Team' initiative.
Chairman Julian Rhodes has promised to slash season-ticket prices to just £138, providing that 10,000 adults pledge their support to the ground-breaking scheme.
The total is over the 3,000 mark so far but many fans may have been holding back because of their feelings towards the manager. That may now change following the decision to axe Todd yesterday.
Supporters' Trust chairman Alan Carling wants to see the 10,000 target hit and believes there will be a positive spin-off on the pitch.
"If City can ride out the recent run of poor results and put together a handful of good wins, then we can guarantee League One survival this year," said Carling.
"Then we can look forward to a positive experience next season with higher attendances, stronger finances and now a new manager as well."
Carling feels Todd deserves respect for the way he handled his two-and-a-half-year reign at the club - City's longest managerial reign since Trevor Cherry.
"Colin has been dealt a difficult hand because of the financial situation and has played that hand with resolution and skill, especially in the transfer and loan markets," he said.
"He has kept the playing side of the club afloat, steadied the ship and assembled a talented squad of players who have performed at times with determination and flair.
"He has also had to cope with constant personnel changes in the first team because of decisions beyond his control.
"At the same time it is possible to understand why Julian Rhodes felt that he had to act sooner rather than later.
"We are drifting dangerously close to the relegation zone and a club like Bradford City cannot allow themselves to fall into League Two.
"The priority now is to get behind David Wetherall and the lads for the rest of the season and beyond."

About the best I can do, Ernie. Over 3,000. I wish the T&A would have one of those thermometer thingies on their website. You know like they do when they're raising money for charity. That way it would be easier to see how well the campaign was doing.

I do not get the T&A - does it keep the advertising going or has it stopped??
Would need conserted effort to keep this up to 10,000.

Ernie, it's plastered all over their website and it is usually on front page of T&A in a small advert directing you to page 6 or something. The Club haven't got a permanent sticky/button on the official site, and that's been pointed out to them on the messageboard.
The marketing is poor to be honest. i'm intent on contacting the local radio stations, but yet agin it is the likes of me and the Trust that will pick up the obvious marketing/advertising strategy that the Club should adopt. It isn't rocket science to realise that coverage on Pulse, Real Radio, Radio Leeds and even BCB might just capture some folk who don't read the T&A and don't have internet.

of which - through both our past experiences know there are very many not on INternet or T&A catchment area.
Maybe something is planned for ther crew and B'ford games.??????

may EVEN be worth City setting up a couple of PC's in the shop to get people to enroll on the spot????

I think they could do with getting the T&A to bang posters up all over the place around Valley Parade, and have free copies of the paper to give out. that'd be a start, but I'm not qualified to be the marketing manager down at City!

By all accounts Mark - nobody is...lol
Why doesn't the trust get all it's members to sign up, that will give us an extra 3.

But isnt that the fear - we get 10,000 pledges and we only get 7,000 who will actually pay????
Leaving the chairman and the NEW manager - WELL short of their Budget figures for the new season.

That's just one of the reasons why the entire thing is misguided.

If they get the 10,000 pledges they should take the £138 as a returnable deposit. Get 10,000 ticket sales then folks get their tickets, if not they can have their money back no strings or use it towards whatever the new price maybe.
They cannot lose this way as long as they explain all this before taking any monies.tup:

So Is £138 gonna get you in the BB or Patrons bar too?
Its all very vague & rushed, which seems to be the norm from VP since GR left:(

That's a good plan. And then 10,000 pledges would turn in to 6,000 actual sales (which they would have got anyway at normal prices).

If we beat crewe on Satursday - expect an upserge in sales - as long as there is some form of advertisement around the ground - It surprised me after a long and drawn out advertisement campaign In the T&A , around the ground and on local radio and on several websites just how many people had not heard of the BCISC when we tried it.
Get it on the Score board , Ground announcements and local media - it has to be worth it in the long run.....

Ideas are flowing on here, because we care, but what I need to know is:-
Can anyone tell me, (and this is a serious question so no quips please) how exactly are the club marketing this ?? I ask because I may have missed something !
At the last home game there were some flyers on the tables but I wouldnt have thought many were filled in as there was nowhere to put them !
As Mrs Beer said, wouldnt it have made sense to have a box in which to post them ?
We appear to be full of ideas but why the hell should we do the job for someone who cannot be bothered - I think you know who I mean !
Between us we could save at least one wage dont you think ??

The Club aren't marketing it. The scheme could only go ahead if the T&A agreed to run the campaign, so the Club would say it is up to the T&A to run the campaign.
I mean, come on, they are very very busy down at Valley Parade....

I thought the trust would have got involved and offered volunteers to help push this at home games.....
Pity the BCISC aint around anymore - there'd be folk willing to do that and the type of thing we used to do quite often!!....

Shove a broom up our arse and we'll sweep the floor as well. Unbeknown to some (obviously) the Trust are pretty active at home games.
Still, it's the T&A's campaign is it not. The Trust is doing its best to get the message out which the Club fails to be doing and the T&A won't do as they have exclusive coverage rights!
In any event if the Trust stood there with leaflets etc you'd all mock it and boycott the scheme.

yeah rite !! some are thats for sure !
as for the marketing - surely it wouldnt harm to push this via whatever means they can ! T & A or no T & A scheme ! Club Shop, reception etc. after all its for the benefit of the club.
Im not saying they arent, as I havent been on recently so if they have then well done JR!
I havent read mine, but is it in the newsletter we get by email from the club ?
and like SFB says, why no link on the front of the club website - JP has probably done it as I speak.

Selling Strike It Lucky tickets for the Club. The Trust also has representatives in the shop to deal with membership, if anyone happens to wish to join. Personally re the campaign, there are people paid by the Club to do a job re marketing etc and the T&A are doing pretty well out of it as well in terms of wider readership - maybe they could get someone down there as well.
So far I've escaped but I have been given something to do that will mean I prob won't get to the TT til near kick off at future games.
