View Full Version : Colin Todds sacking from The T&A
Bradford City today sacked boss Colin Todd and put captain David Wetherall in temporary charge.
Todd paid the price after overseeing only one win in the last ten matches, a run that has left them just three points above the League One relegation zone.
The 1-0 loss at Gillingham on Saturday was the final straw for chairman Julian Rhodes, who informed the under-pressure manager this morning.
Todd told the squad at lunchtime with the players said to be "visibly shocked."
City have won just three of their last 20 fixtures and are fast falling towards a relegation dogfight.
Visibly Shocked, why like us did they think he would never go!
They might have to do some work now rather than toss it off thats probably why they were shocked.

Probably shocked because like us they don't think the Club has any money, yet if he has been sacked then that means we will have to pay out his contract, rumoured to have been until 2009!

We could carry on paying him till 2009 to soften the blow though - like England are doing with Sven - if Weathers was made permanent manager (which i would want BTW) then we'd hardly be out of pocket!!.....
Its just a scenario - but i'd be very surprised if Todd got paid out in full till 2009!!

I think Todds departure reopens the door!
Get him back now - we need his ability!

Don't agree, now is the time for a major clearout.
This club needs rebuilding and those not pulling their weight need to be shown the door.
It will be interesting to see if Wethers plays on Saturday or if he puts Clarke and Bower at the back whilst he has a taste of the dugout and being manager.

To be honest, I don't think that's a bad thing, because considering how slow he looked when trying to react to Forest's 2nd goal and the mix-up again on Saturday, maybe his best playing days are behind him and it's time for him to make way for someone a bit more agile. He's an intelligent bloke, got loads of experience, and the respect of fellow players and fans. I honestly hope he does well.
