has Todd not been sacked?

I know that some people might harshly argue that 16 points from our last 19 games (a run that if replicated over a season would result in us getting just 39 points, which last season would have made us bottom by 8 points) isn't great.

But surely the signs of a turnaround are there. We've got 6 points from our last 6 games. This is fantastic... if replicated over a season this would give us 46 points. Now I know that 46 points would still have got us relegated in bottom place last season, but only by a point.

3 wins in 20 league games and that twat is still here ffs,we are going down with Todd in charge and anyone who thinks differently is out of thier heads. We have 15 games left and the form is getting worse and we need at least 15 points,oh my head is in fucking bits and there are still people bleating on about Todd.

Actually jimmy, we have 14 games left. If we average a point a match from here on in we will finish with 51 points, which should just about be enough to avoid relegation although I grant it would be a close call.

To look at it a little more closely, our last 6 games have been against:

Port Vale 13th
Swansea 7th
Tranmere 6th
Yeovil 4th
Forest 3rd
Gillingham 12th

None of those are easy matches. All are in the top half of the table, all of them are still very much in the promotion race. The average position of the teams we have played over the last 6 games is 7th - this was never going to be a good set of results for us.

The next 6 matches are a different proposition.

Crewe 15th
Brentford 23rd
Rotherham 24th
Huddersfield 11th
Bristol City 5th
N'hampton 19th

Most of these are in the bottom half of the table. The average position of these teams is 15th. We should do better out of this set of matches.

There is more than one team involved in a game of football, and the respective abilities of both sides affect the outcome. Let's see where we are in 6 games time when we've had a run playing the teams from the bottom half rather than the top.

And just for completeness, the 8 games after that which finish the season off see us facing teams with an average position of 13th. Again, we should do better in that set of matches than we have done in the last 6 games.

My revised estimate is 55 points for the end of the season, finishing in approximately 17th place.

The stats for the last 20 games are even bleaker if you take into account that during that period we had JJ, Doyle and Windass. These are by far the 3 best players and they are now gone. Logic would suggest that we would do worse without them.

Add to that, after our next 2 home games (which we need 4 points IMO) we have a run of 5 games out of 7 AWAY....

If we come out of the next 2 games with 2 points or less, my prediction is that by the time the 5 in 7 run is over, we will be firmley entrenched in the bottom 4.

Rhodes was playing a very high risk game by getting rid of Windass/JJ - If it results in relegation it will extinguish any more 'made' from the deals.

Good post there OHP

However:

I'm still trying to get my head around this one

Do you honestly believe that the team we have and how they are being played, will come anywhere near beating any of these teams? If you do then your most definitely the optimist !

Maybe, just maybe, we stand a chance against Brentford - as for the others, I am not at all confident we will get anything at all.

IMO, 6 games down the line (and I prayer: I am proved wrong BIG TIME ) will be too late on current form.

Our position is frightening and I have had this feeling twice before. This season, without drastic changes however, I really do fear the worst.

Brentford have won their last 2 games and seem to be picking up a bit of form. jawdrop:

How can you defend Turd Baldy?....The guys a complete disaster area yet you make excuse after excuse for his obvious shortcomingstdwn: ....Your posts defending this man are begining to make you look rather silly, continue like this and your gonna lose a lot of "face" on here from some of your disciples:rolleyes:

You seem to think just because were playing teams below or around us will some how help our chances of survival, yet most people who have any knowledge of football will tell you that its even harder competing against teams fighting for their lives at this stage of the season of the season than those going for promotion!

I suppose if we do go down & people say "I told you so" you'll try & defend your argument by saying that it was about to happen one day, well if i keep telling you the moons made of cheese will this eventually come true...one day?

Get your head out of the sand;)

Do we? naah

he's only here because Junior won't pay him off and the other directors are as much use as packets of Lard.

So, we now need some 15 points to get us to 52 points and safety - 14 games left = 42 points, so need some 35.7% of those available.

To date our achievement has been 38.5%

It's getting to be a mighty fine line

3 wins from the last 20 tells it's own story.

I reckon we can scrape 3 wins from those 14 and 5 draws = 14 points , giving us 51 points for the season.

We have little choice other than to back whatever team Turd puts out, as for progress well let's save that for May when the saviours start to arrive at VP.

Wisey - will these saviours (who are they?) make a great deal of difference - financially and on the field - because if not then waht is going to change?

The saviour he's on about is Gibb, Which he's been harping on about since the start of the year.

The likely hood of anything happening with Gibb being involed now is 0%, he's trying to flog the ground to people intrested in the club - he doesn't want to come back.

Andrew. Your laws of averages and statistical analyses are very good and illuminating. My observations from having been at 6 matches so far this season, however, point in another direction.

I have witnessed 4 defeats and 2 draws, one of which was goalless. I have seen no good football, I have wasted my time and money turning up to, what is for me, 6 trips abroad to watch sub-standard crap. I have occasionally seen some good players performing quite well individually at different times but I have never yet seen 11 players playing well together.

Forget the laws of averages, this TEAM is poor, apparently getting worse and in grave danger of going back to the old 4th division, which is where I came in back in the 1960s.

It's heart-breaking to see a 25,000 seater stadium ¼ full witnessing football that is not good enough even for this sh;tty league.

What is wrong? Apart from the poor team, tactics, catering, marketing, financial heritage, investment and the fact that I obviously bring bad luck, nothing I can put my finger on.
