What was there partnership like? seem's it's the usual doom and gloom and nobody really making too much noise about a strike force without widearse in it?

Hibbert has also signed on for a further two months and Todd is also trying to extend Dyer's and Paynter's stay also, possibly even trying to get Doncaster to release Dyer...

Thoughts people?

Haven't seen the pair but 2 goals shared between them in 1 game sounds very positive. They both have good credentials.
If we sold Windass end of season and snapped up this pair plus Hibbert then we'd have a good set of 4 strikers with different attributes and could afford to loan out Smith and Brown to get some games and see if they can make it or not.

Another cracking day outside(weatherwise), even if it is a bit chilly!

And that Ham/salad sandwich i had for lunch is laying heavily on my stomach!

And on the footballing front: Dyer and Paynter played well together. Dyer worked very hard, always chasing balls etc, and had good control and awareness. Paynter worked well in more of a targetman/ support role, but also getting into good positions to strike the ball. Realms of experience between the two, and it's looking like a good partnership combo. On a smaller note: Eddie also played well when he came on- worked very hard, similar to dyer. Or byer if you believe the yorkshire sport paper. Looking good.

Christ, Billy Paynter?! Scored?! He's already equalled his Southend United goal tally then.

How did he do against forest? I hope his new-found form continues.

Haha, he was quite prolific with vale, till two seasons ago when he was head-hunted by southend! Not done a right lot since- but is proven at this level.

he missed a couple more chances but he defo got better as the game went on - always thought he had potential when played for the Vale.

He went to Hull on loan in Nov 2005 and signed January 2006, Southend then signed him at the beginning of this season.

So it was the Dull boys who destroyed his early promise.
