Tonights game was against the unbeaten league leaders Hurricanes who boast a 100% record. The slippery pitch made for a great leveller & C&B took the lead through Ed. They continued to play well and 2 further goals from JonnyD meant the lads turned round full of cofidence losing only 4-3.

in the second half a great turn & shot From Ed brought an equaliser and the leaders started arguing between each other.

The managed to get back on track though playing the ball & moving to finally run away 11-4 winners but for 2/3rds of the game, C&B gave them a real scare.

Well done lads, their guy on the side line said it was one of their toughest games yet.

Aye, well played all. A bit more luck in front of goal for us and it would have been alot closer. The margin of victory makes it sound like a thrashing but that was far from the case. If some of our shots had gone in to keep the score tighter I'm sure we wouldn't have conceded those goals at the end. We let in about 4 or 5 with 5 minutes to go but that's how it goes when you're chasing a game, you're bound to get caught at the back.
Another good performance. 3rd on the trot! Roll on the grudge match next week against windlesshill!

BTW JS, I'm sure Ed's 2nd goal made it 7-4 to them, not an equalizer. Twas a good goal though. Shielded the ball from the defender, turned and shot into the corner of the net. Great strength and finish. It was quite amusing in the bar afterwards when KB said to Ed, "You're quite athetlic for a big chap." When he actually meant to say "Good turn that Ed, for a fat lad!"

Your probably right JD, i thought we were drawing at one time before their late flurry of goals but like you say, a good show by all you lads & the team is starting to work together well the more you play together, it definitely shows from the touchline.

I don't they are doing a good job.

I'm more suited to playing Goalkeeper whom they already have a top class one (No brown nosing involved here:D)

Your needed next week Robinho, Si & Boosh are unavailable due to Christmas Party duty.

It was a really good show for 2/3rds of the match but the Hurricanes just stepped it up near the end & showed why they have a 100% record in the division.

I am battered and bruised also, a cracking bruise on my left knee and it feels like I've broken a finger??????!!!!!

In the first half we more than matched them, some great interplay between us, stopping their passing game, they had to then resort to individual skills and started running at us one on one. As KB said afterwards in an 11 a-side game they'd have been kicked up in the air with their fancy skills but you can't do that on a 5 a-side pitch, at least I didn't think you could until Si tried to take that lads left leg off!

It was 7-4 when I came off towards the end and I thought we still had a chance - we came back from 6-2 down a few weeks back with about the same amount of time left. Still I suppose the defensive duties were sacrificed a tad to push forward at the end, catch 22 situation, you have to get forward and that then makes you vulnerable to counter attack. The biggest difference between them and us was their touch and control - every first touch for them was perfect.

Well done though guys, it felt like the hardest game we've had and I don't for one minute think we disgraced ourselves. It looks like the Travellers didn't turn up last night so we stay 3rd bottom, Rawdon Soft are now 4 points clear of us.

if we stay on the same points (us and travellers) after next weeks games, the incentive for us to beat City Hall Centurians would be that if the Travellers failed to win that week, we would be guaranteed to stay up.

And by the way, my kick was not really intended for that guy, it was just that he was the nearest one to me at the time. I just wanted to kick any of them........

Last night they lost my respect for the way they were trying to take the piss. City Hall Centurians are seen as the whipping boys of the league and i would hate it if we started taking the piss out of them if we were beating them comfortably.

There is a way of winning with class and that is still showing your opponents respect. The Huccaines didn't do this last night. Just got me mad.

Spot on Si - there's a time and a place for showboating, taking it round the same man half a dozen times when he had 2 or 3 others to pass to aint showing class....that lad was asking for a Graham Stewart on Ronaldo tackle...!!

I think JPH had tried several times to kick one of their lads but got nowhere near! I agree re the showboating - in a Sunday morning game at least 2 of their lads would have been off injured after about 5 minutes.
