View Full Version : V marsh- Thru ball of season?
Good effort tonight ladsjump:
The turning point was the thru ball:p
Honestly tho, good performance from everyone, except matt who was rubbish!
Top marks for Ed, stepping up to the mark (rather eager!) and showing we have strength in depth!
Once again Si (if he were a dwarf he'd be Greedy:rolleyes: ) scored all the goals, and once again didn't get man of the match!
Hopefully next week we'll keep it below 10 against the unbeaten Hurricanes!
NIGHT OUT 27th DECEMBER-PUT IT ON YOUR GIRLY CALANDERS:)

One does seem to get the impression that we are a little bit of a one man team, and that if Si wasn't there it could be awfully embarassing most weeks.

Tonight it was a genuine team effort from everyone although Si got the goals, everybody played really well with Ed taking over in goals when KB got injured & doing a sterling job. Well played lads.
Players MOM & Supporters MOM was given to Ed for his performance after being thrown in the deep end.

The Flying Pig got injured in the first half & Ed (The Cat) took over for the rest of the game. KB came off to rapturous applause & laughter when he revealed his Village People vest under his keepers shirt. Thank God he kept the leather posing pouch covered. Even The Ref was laughing and singing YMCA to himself!!!.........Sorry Matt, Couldn't resist it.

Shame i wasnt there to step in!
Hope it's not a bad injury?? Is he out tomorrow night?
Adie, wish you'd quit going on about being there, or wishing, or asking if your too crap to play.
EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE is fucking sick to the back teeth of it, If you want to play turn up on a thursday night, if not shut the fuck up it's boring now.
On to other things.......
I thought it was a real team performance, the first i've seen were everyone played for each other - if someone made a mistake another person came in and cleaned up for them. People were passing a lot and not doing 1 man shows as in most weeks, this really got up the oppositions noses and they started arguing with each other at the back.
I wouldn't say I was eager to go in goals, I just saw Matt struggling and remembered JP's thrilling goalkeeper antics of Wednesday night so said i'd go in goal if Matt couldn't continue. Had a few Russell Howarth moments and gifted them the second goal.
Si was good, and I allowed him to get the first goal by deliberatly smacking the ball against the Bar in the opening minutes.
If we play like that again next week even if it is against the best team in the League we stand half a chance. The way we did rolling subs was good too keeping players fresh rather than someone playing the full game and being totally knackered.
Well done lads.

Can't be arsed! THERE IS NONE! there was some sarcasm about someone ringing me up begging to play then matt calling me shit and me asking if i was that shit? But that was jest since i know who shite i actually am!
Keep telling yourself that, you'll believe it one day too.
Aye, Well done to everyone.
We're definately not a one-man team as even though i got all the goals it was mostly down to rest of the team for creating the chances.
Some good passing play and people seemed to enjoy playing last night.
A performance like that next week and it'll be a lot closer that people might imagine.
Special well done to JPH for his through ball (even though my running made it look a great pass!!!) and also to Ed for hitting the crossbar rather than scoring so he didn't lose his 20 grand bet!
Roll on next week.

We're in the bottom 3, but last night moved us up one place. Looks like a battle between Rawdon, Travellers and us for Relagation.
oooo, that didn't come out as planned!

You did us a favour last night lads, marsh wud av been 1 point behind us had you lost to them, cheers. Felt good to give Ring O'bells a gud stuffing last night after they were saying on here they were the best team in the league n stuff. God knows how but they topped you as the dirtiest team last night aswel!!!!

Good win BM, your looking good for promotion now

Cheers, BM. You must have caught us on an off day cos last night was good clean football. The referees have been better for the last few weeks and I think that helps the game flow better, more consistent, actually playing to the head height rule. We even had multiball last night twice when balls from other pitches landed on ours and the ref screamed play on. It was like pinball!
Re the table, I still think we can catch the Marsh. Ever the optimist like, I reckon we can get a result against Ring O'Bells and Windhill, we should beat Centurians and play like we have been doing we might just be the banana skin Hurricanes have avoided all season! tup: ;)

Well hopefully you can beat ring o'bells, they didnt look too good last night, i think they do themselves more harm than good by fouling all the time cos they seem to concentrate more on that then actually trying to win. how many points are you off marsh? is it 5 or summot? gonna be tought to claw that back, but still dooable, you need to makesure you dont finish in bottom 2 tho cos there is a division 3 now but dunno if there is relegation cos they are like 5 games behind or something like that. Think Rawdon Soft my end the season strongly cos saw them yesterday and they had afew new players.
if i'm honest and with no disrespect to any of the teams, i think the only team that we should have lost to would be the Hurricanes. I genuinely believe that had things gone our way in all the other games, we could have won the vast majority of them.

Well Played Lads last night. I think that the passing that you were doing in the first half was excellent you should always pass it about like that. Mark was brilliant at the back and could read each player like a book tackling well everytime. Goals from Si were quality but the best one was when he ran all the way and scored that was fookin ace. Can't forget to mention JP's ball throuhg for the turning point of the game, keep it up JP . Great match lads, finally we won for the first time in a while. Cheers for the Pint Matt after the game tup:
