This could be a good idea rather than seeing a possee of players surrounding the Ref at every contentious decision

I saw this on Football Focus at the weekend. I find it to be a very good idea. If any of you watch Rugby, you can see a display of respect for the referees, because the appointed captain, is appointed for his level headed reasoning. The players even call the ref "Sir" FFS!

This prevents wasting of time as you have a delegate speaking the team's piece rather than each individual crowding around the ref.

In addition, it eradicates bullying which can occur (especially from the home team) that can unfairly influence the final score. Referees are only as human as the rest of us, therefore intimidation can lead to a wrong decision.

In conclusion, I back this notion and feel that with this addition the game will evolve for the better

I'm still waiting for the video ref to be introduced. They have the technology and any bad decision can be rectified immediately and there is no more human error. But I also believe that the Rugby system is better. However you usually tend to have a different class of player playing rugby rather than football, so that might also explain the respect for a ref as well.

Sepp Blatter has said that he won't sanction video replays whilst he is in charge of FIFA. All he will allow is a micro-chip in the ball to say if it crossed the line.

They are going to use it in the World Club Cup next year

Never, ever gonna happen and if it did it wouldn't work....

The main reason being....

Rugby players (generally) = intelligent people

Football players (almost all) = thick as pig shit

I mean even the PG tips chimps can be trained - players like Windass on the other hand.....

Not something that carries over to football unfortunately. The appointed Captain of the Current Premier League Champions and the National Team was sent of against Spurs the other week for calling one of his black England team mates a "Monkey". But it was swept under the carpet with said team mates blessing. HHHHHallegedly of course.
