Serious thoughts though folks ---
If he sacks Todd, he has no money to bring someone in so maybe weathers can run the team until the season end -- but even then the problem is that if there is no money then, where does a new manager and better players come from?
Instead of just shouting for CTs head lets have some ideas -- mayhap they will fillter through to JR -- who knows?

David Wetheral,is out of the same mould as Colin Todd and is NO way a leader.I cannot believe he is the Captain of the team on the pitch. It is very rare you see any leadership qualitys come out on the pitch from him.
David Wetheral should be the club Captain and not the team captain.
People keep saying, but who are we going to get if Todd goes?
Its quite simple really,it has to be someone with drive, passion, commitment, tactical awareness and man management skills.
A future young manager who is coming to the end of his playing career,is what we should be looking for and not Wetheral or Windass.
Steve Stone would be an ideal choice for me,he has bags of potential.

I'm sure we can afford to get rid of todd and pay him off somehow, then we need to bring in a young up coming manager who actually has motivation and drive to succeed, the sooner we get it done the sooner we can try and turn this season round before its too late.

Peter Jackson will be the next City Manager.....
Of that i have no doubt.....
We missed out on Dennis Wise i reckon who could of been player manager this season...
I didn't want Todd to go but when his head was being called for i shouted out Wiseys name and just cos of his hardman image on the pitch lots started bleating....
Steve Stone???? You are havin a laugh......

We can't afford to sack him, so I don't think thats an option. However if he resigns then his wages are available to go elsewhere.tup:
This clubs had too long in freefall and whilst Todds stabalised the falling, I think the team is capable of much more than where we are. A manager that would capture the fans attentions and is able to instill belief and self confidence in the players is what we need. Personally I don't think Weathers or Windass fit the bill, however I do believe Stu and/or Beags do.
But whatever happens I hope its not the master of slime.

JR got us in this situ by awarding that turd a hefty contract - up to him, he can afford it - can he afford to fund a club in League 3 (4th division)
From Premiership to the basement league in 6 years - the battle is on to stop this happening

- Sack Todd and appoint Wetherall as Caretaker Manger (not player/manager.)
- With Wethers becoming caretaker, Bower moves back into the centre with Ainge and Parker at left back.
- Schuey becomes captain.

JR should make it absolutely clear to Todd that he's going to tie his hands together. Make it clear he doesn't want him as manager and make it clear he wants him to resign.
In fact make it clear that he will do everything to make life impossible for Todd. Take away all priveledges, shame him in public like Todd does to the players and fans and threaten to put him on gardening leave.
Do whatever it takes to get the little turn to resign.
We cannot afford to sack him so he has to go on his own accord. I'm sure the pair can come together for an amicable settlement and if not make Turds life hell.

Get McCall and Dolan in.
If McCall wants to end the season with Blades first then get Dolan to caretaker till end of season.

That would be constructive dismissal though surely? It would cost us a lot more than just sacking him!

And Schuey for captain - id drop him and put Doyle at defensive midfield!!

How many threads about sacking Todd will there be before the penny drops that the money to sack Todd isn't there so it's not an option. Jacko under pressure at Town, Andy Ritchie out of work and available, now would be the ideal time to thank Todd for keeping this shower of shite in the division and send him on his way. But that won't happen because it would cost far far too much money to pay the final two and a half years of his five year contract.

JR has the funds to get rid of Todd and the only thing stoping him,is the fact it was him who gave Todd a 5 yr contract. It was JR who said he wanted stabillity and that why he gave Todd a long contract.
JR will have been outed for another big mistake if he sacks Todd, its another i got it badly wrong again.

when the cry's for todd out get louder and the gates get lower JR will have no option.
Money will always be found - rather than commit commercial suicide and get relegated.
As to who will replace him jimmy said "David Wetheral,is out of the same mould as Colin Todd and is NO way a leader.I cannot believe he is the Captain of the team on the pitch. It is very rare you see any leadership qualitys come out on the pitch from him.

Have a look at the accounts that Rick has posted on the other thread. There is no money to pay anybody anything.
Of course the Rhodes family have enough personal money to pay him off a hundred times over, but there is no obligation on them to put any more of their own money in, nor do I expect them to.

Giving any manager a five year contract in this day and age is a major risk, especially one with very minimum track record of previous success. Eighteen months at best should be on offer from a team in our position. If Jacko gets the bullet at Hudders alongside Ritchie, there would be two quality managers in the shitpool. How ironic would it be to see them swimming merrily away waiting for someone else to land them when they are both within City's price range, when City are stuck with what they have got, who seemingly nobody wants.

If they are that good Chuckles, how come Ritchie has been sacked and it's thought likely that Jacko will follow? Being great managers, you'd think their respective boards would've done/would do anything to keep them wouldn't you?
Seriously, why would we want them? If Jacko does go that would mean they would both have failed so why do you think they would do well at VP?
Football must be one of the few jobs where you can be sacked and yet quite easily walk into another job.
it is the only job in the country where you fail over and over again, and still manage to convince your audience that you are a good manager:eek: we are living proof of that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quite a few are let down by their boards as opposed to their tactics or managerial skills failing...
If you always have to survive on a shoestring you are always going to live on a tightrope...
Thats the difference...
Some managers are shite with or without money
Some are brilliant with but poor without..
Some of the greatest without never seem to get the chance with
etc etc
Jacko for example failing had Huddersfield in no way means he would fail here...Has he failed though or just took them as far as he can within the limitations he is under...??? Who knows
You could fetch Ferguson here and i doubt with the same constraints as Todd he would do much better if at all...
Boards and players can severely undermine a good manager... Thats why some walk straight into other jobs...
Some strangely though go straight for a same same situation job as the one they were sacked from...But then again we all have to pay the bills...

They are both textbook shitpool managers Doc, but compared to the rest of the shitpool, I think they are capable and theres no way we'll go anywhere other than the shitpool for Todd's successor. I personally would have Jacko in a breath, he's a ***** but he's a decent enough manager at this level. If Todd goes, his replacement first and foremost has to keep City in this division, Jacko would deliver that.

Can't really argue with that Chucks, although I have to say I'd hate to see Jacko back at VP the greasy haired turncoat bar steward.
