View Full Version : Dislike of Celtic Fans

After listening to countless radio phone-ins, i've got a real dislike of Celtic fans. Because they had a fantastic team of homegrown players who won the European Cup, the have been suffering delusions of grandeur for years. If they lose, admittedly other clubs are the same, you never hear a word but if they win Jocks from all over the world are on air as if its the Second Coming saying they are the biggest club in the world & demanding they should be allowed in the English League so they can conquer that with their team of average foreign imports & Championship cast offs. God forbid anyone who utters a negative comment against the mighty hoops, are we all supposed to bow at the knee of this club that just because Scots emigrated all over the world have a large support base think they are bigger than clubs like Real, Barca, Boca etc. I even heard one fan saying they had as much of a European pedigree as Liverpool & even though he was laughed down he wouldn't admit how foolish he sounded. Get a reality check buoys, your a big club in an average league in a small country & we don't need you down here.

A set of fans who support Republican terrorists - who murder British citizens and troops....
A set of fans who won't have a minutes silence for Armistace day because of the boo's towards our war dead.....
A set of fans, players and officials who won't ever wear poppies, again for the reasons above.....(apart from Strachan - kudos to him)
A set of fans who taunted Claudio Reyna (the American) with airplane gestures during an old firm derby (after 9/11)
A set of fans who booed during a minutes silence for 9/11
How come its taken you so long to find your dislike for these scumbags JS?....

The only interest i have in Jock football was when Stuart Macca was up there with Rangers but the Celts fans swarm all over the airwaves like they are world beaters when they win a game. After they lost to Benfica the silence was deafening & after Porto beat them in the UEFA, all they did was bleat about the cheating Portuguese

as an aside, i feel sorry for genuine Hearts fans with all the shit going down at their club at the minute, if the owner wasn't a megalomaniac, they could really challenge the old firm which is what is desperately needed for Jockland

My comments above aren't bigoted at all - do you deny that any of my points above are wrong?
Look at the team/staff/management photograph taken in Lisbon the other week when Celtic played - ONE person with a poppy on - Strachan....
How come there wasn't a minutes silence at St Mirren on Armistace day when Celtic played there?
The evidence of 9/11 and the minutes silence and Reyna is in the public domain - not hard to find....
Pro IRA songs are sung all the time at Parkhead, the vast majority of Celtic fans are Oirish catholic and are very symapthetic to the republican cause...
Whilst i may have made "bigoted" comments in the past (have you never slagged Islam off BTW ) none of the above is bigoted in the slightest....

Its all about opinions Brother, i have no feelings for Celtic or Man U, its just a perception of how i see the Celtic fans right or wrong. A comparison down here would be Spurs fans who i find to be whingers of the highest order although i agree its probably only a very vocal minority of the whole fan base, after a while they just get a bit boring with their crap about being part of the premier league, if they want a stronger league, stop poaching all the talent from smaller Scottish clubs & leaving it in the reserves, Rangers included in this by the way

Just admit, you are jealous to death of what you saw last night and are having a reet proper paddy (if you pardon the pun) about it.
You have a very hypocritical and short memory too, didn't you used to have the logo of a Loyalist Terrorist organisation as your avatar? Don't the Rangers fans constantly chant about the UDA , now correct me if I am wrong aren't they also a terrorist organisation guilty of widespread murder during the "troubles". Like Racism, sectarianist murderers and their glorification by football fans who should know better aren't exclusive to one side.

So give a bit in the Rangers direction too JS, theres one on here still bleating about what they did in last years, competition FFS! As for bleating and whinging soccer fans getting boring. Have you seen it on here on Groundhog Mondays??
Celtic and Rangers would offer more to the English premier League than the likes of Watford, Sheff Utd, Fulham, Reading, Barnsley, Wigan and Bradford City etc etcand both would more than hold their own. When the FA falls into the hands of somebody not scared to show some balls, they will get the fastrack down to the English Premiership they deserve.

Not really jealous of the jammy win at all mate - good luck to em.....the first half showed me that if they ever play someone decent like Chelsea then they won't even get a touch of the ball.....
Historically the UVF weren't a terrorist organisation at all (altho i admit they did become a paramilitary organisation), it was foolish to put the logo on my profile tho, something i regretted and removed....it was only a red hand tho - a symbol which represents both sides of the divide if researched....
I should have refrained from replying to such a post in the first place if i'm honest - its sommat i've moved on from in the last couple of years.....

I'll agree that Rangers are as bad as Celtic in the secrarian stakes, are Hearts & Hibs the same historically?. I know that its very unhealthy for all concerned & in Northern Ireland even led to the closure of Belfast Celtic because of the rivalry with Linfield. As for your other point, if they did come down here, i honestly believe it would take them at least 3 years to find their feet in a league where 'pressure' games come almost every week. I don't agree that they should be allowed down here & if they were why should they walk into the premier league at the expense of a club who is there by right. The only reason is the greed of club chairmen after the money from the hoards of Jocks that would come down although it would be interesting to see how their crowds stood up when they are not in a winning position every week, look at how Rangers gates have dropped this season now they are having a poor season

Well, You do know People who live in Glass Houses shouldn't do then don't you?
i don't think the scottish clubs should ever compete in the english league.
if you allow them to enter the premiership then next step will be to allow clubs of other countries in which would inevitably lead to the formation of a european super league. Something that the big clubs have been creaming their pants about for years in view of the potential revenue created by large gates and tv money.
as for the other 'smaller' clubs, these big clubs won't care.
keep to it how it has been for years and years. too much interference in the game these days.

I'm with Chuckle on this - but can see the uproar it would cause.....
I don't see why we can't let the SPL teams compete in our league cup though - it'd breathe life into what is fast becoming a fookin joke of a competition.....
How much would the gates improve......

The only problem would be hoards of jocks invading English towns every time they were drawn against an English club away, who would then procede to smash up the town and everything around it.
The Scots hate England, they have every right to do so, since England has ripped them off and used scotland like some minor colony. And how many scots have sacrificied their lives and shown great bravery fighting for those in London? Even the North Sea oil and gas has benefited England most. How rich would Scotland be if it had it all to itself?
The scots when they travel abroad following their clubs or national team are usually some of the best behaved and vocal supporters in the world, a credit to world football, except when they come to England, then all those years of anger of being English slaves floats to the surface and it's like Braveheart all over again.
I know when Rangers played Bradford for Stu's testimonial most behaved themselves, but I think that was more down to Stu. In competitive games they would be armed and ready. In fact I don't think the government would allow it. They would follow in Maggie's shoes and ban the games.

How obvious some Jock team gets a win and here we go with the "Why won't they let us in...??? We would offer so much more blah blah blah"...
Rangers are getting worse and worse and cannot afford to attract players of any worth...The Celtic "we are the biggest club in the world" Bhoys are as poor at attracting anyone better than a bottom half team in the Prem....
That is getting worse rather than better up North of the border...The only ones to benefit vastly are the Jocks....
Now before the well we beat Manure bollox...Let's look at it for what it was....A one side drubbing coupled with a missed pen and a lucky goal...
We see that kind of thing every year in the FA Cup, League Cup and Champs League etc.....
Shit teams beating top teams...Now over a full season in the Prem the current Rangers and Celtic sides would struggle like fook at best.... Anyone who says different is fooking stupid......
After a free season of all the extra cash they could improve but why the fook should an English league be used to sort out the finances of an English hating neighbour....
I would rather we take PSV and Ajax from the Dutch league..... Or Porto and Benfica.....
This topic thankfully will never come to anything but a pipe dream in the minds of deluded Pub football fans....
As for the sectarian shite i remember a couple of years on the bounce listening to pissed up Rangers fans calling me and the lads traitors who should piss off back to Dublin for protecting Catholic estates during Drumcree... Fooking solid bazzas.....
Just further proof as to how solid some up there are...There is a border there for a fooking reason and that is to keep the shite out.....

Why would a LOYALIST club have nazi links yer fookin muppet - the salute IS THE RED HAND OF ULSTER salute.....many famous Gers died fighting against nazi tyranny.....tdwn:
A small number of their support maybe nazi's - as a small number of OUR support have the same views - but to put it into perspective, Rangers probably have a combined fanbase of Arsenal, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Charlton and every other London team put together - are they not allowed to have a few numptys?.....

Did you read the link from LoyalistFM? Obviously not, because as soon as anything bad is said about your club, you jump to it's defence without even thinking (or reading for that matter). Please don't tell me to grow up, it's very patronising and has nothing to do with my point. The Rangers fan who wrote the article probably knows a hell of a lot more about the club than you do as he knows there's no such thing as the Red Hand of Ulster Salute...Only the Red Hand of Ulster as a symbol, not a salute.
My main point was, it's not just Celtic fans who have a faction of complete goons, but the Blue half of Glasgow too.

I've no idea what this red hand salute business is about, and that probably goes for 95% of the population.
I take your point that no one person is representative KB, but if this salute is fairly common then it is going to be taken for a Nazi salute by the general public irrespective of it's origins, and that does your team no favours.

The red hand is the symbol of the province of Ulster....
The legend goes that two tribes from Scotland raced over the Irish see to claim the province as there own, the boat which reached shore first and put his hand on land would claim the province for their tribe.....when the 2nd boat was lagging behind, the leader of the tribe cut of his hand and threw it onto the beach....hence the legend of the red hand!!
I've never even seen the "red hand salute" done by any Rangers fans - but occassionally they do i'm lead to believe, at the same time as singing Loyalist songs - which kind of gives you a clue to what the salute actually represents....

'I've no idea what this red hand salute business is about, and that probably goes for 95% of the population.'
Me and you both Andrew. I do that the very same salute with both hands whenever the Kop starts singing 'Stand up if you hate the Leeds'. No way does that make me a bigot.:D
Btw David, congratulations on Sceptics win. Twas probably the first time in my life I've watched a a high profile game(on tape obviously, the Arsenal game was far more important) and not given a toss about who wins. In my case it was akin to being asked who I liked the most, Adolf Hitler or Idi Amin, and on this occasion Idi Amin won. Well done.

Well I dont want to piss on anyones bonfire - but the Salute has NOTHING to do with the red hand - it is a nationalist salute - Nazi / Facist / BNP - call it what you want.- It certainly is NOT the SNP
The Majority of Gers fans as staunch nationalists and would die rather than see independance from the UK - they share our queen and are more British than 90% of Englishmen.
I have been a member of the Hearthill Blues for over 20 years and often go to Games in Scotland. - I see and hear it every game. - Many still call the balck players monkeys - monkey bears for their own players even!!!
Remember when the Gers came down to VP for Stuarts game - ever heard the national antham sang in VP before???????
I am not condoning the singing - i dont raise my hand when songs are sang but man many do.
BUT Gents look at Chelsea - No different - hence the strong links between the "blues"

Do you not think it is verging on the ridiculous to support a team so far away on the basis of a religion or way of life you may have ties to??
To hang on to 'legends' and fairy tales hundreds of years past??
Why does religion play such a huge role in deciding which football team you 'should' support??

The thing is bb - Football is a religion and so interwovan within the Scottish phycye - especially in Glasgow.
It determins who you support , which church you go to , what school and even which pub's you can drink in.
Monday to Friday there is a tollerence level - especially within the last 10 years - BUT come the saturday of an old firm game and NO one speaks or acknowledges their work mates. For 90 mins there is pure hatred and sectarian bile spat out from both sides.
BUT a better footballing atmosphere for any nutural YOU WILL NEVER FIND.

Thats some wierd shit Rangers mates you've got there Ernie, either that or your still stuck in a timewarp 20 years ago.....never in half a dozen games have i come across owt like that, and the mates i have who live up there and support the Gers don't behave like that either!! There's a massive difference with em singing the national anthem and songs about the union and performing a nazi salutes....
Ask Rambo, JPH and jonnyd who came up there with me a couple of weeks ago - not one person on a packed coach and not one person in a packed social club and not one person in a packed Ibrox performed any racist behaviour or nazi salutes.....whilst i fully accept there will be an element of their yowg support like that - to claim that its the norm is simply not right!!
BTW are you sure your a member of a Gers supporters club and not some hillbilly, league of gentleman type, highland far right group.....;)

Depends if you call Broxburn / Witburn the hill billy badlands - lol
I have been going to rangers for 20 years - home and away - Friendly and Euro games.. - and without doubt the nationalists get worse when in Europe - draped in the union flag.
As I said it is getting better - but it is there - the old firm games brings them out - due the the republican stance of Celtic as does the travel abroad " flying the flag".
It is not the Norm - but it does happen - You wont see a lot of it at normal games that i grant you - but EVEN Bradford CITY has its share of BNP support ...alledgedly.
