To How many days before Todd leaves the club. Assuming Junior doesn't offer a new contract, because if you are in a similar position as to where you are now, which is the sum of the current board of Directors ambitions, I reckon there'll be another Five Years on the Table for Col and Bob;
As of today.... Thanks to your brainbox Chairman. You have at least another;

I very much doubt it would cost that much to get rid of him.
I think it's more in the region of £100k.

3K a week over Two and a half years. Davison'll need paying too, plus any annual signing on fees and any bonuses they are entitled to? I think 500K is a best case scenario. That's before you have the new guys' wages and signing on fees etc.
It doesn't matter if it costs twenty quid or half a million quid though does it. Thanks to the watertight five year deals, The Club cannot afford to sack any of the coaching staff under any circumstances. Don't shoot the messenger, turn your anger on the buffoon who sanctioned their deals and more specifically their duration.
Two Years Seven months and eleven days at least.

Signing an unfit loan player sounds like grounds for discipline to me......
Criticising the fans and the players (customers and club employee's) publicly sounds lke grounds for discipline for me.....
There's no way on this planet you'd have to pay up his contract in full to get rid of him!!

There's no way on the planet that Junior would risk having to pay court fees on top of Todd's pay out when he gets taken to court for sacking him for ridiculous reasons you mention, neither of which would stand up in court as grounds for discipline. He'd claim a genuine error for the unfit loan player and he's perfectly within his rights to be critical of who the feck he wants to be. As long as he doesn't publically call his own bosses Dopey Cnuts, he can say what he wants about who he wants and even if he did call em Dopey Cnuts, he'd likely get away with it on the grounds he'd be telling the truth.
Like I said on the other thread, Don't Shoot the Messenger. Unless he walks of his own accord, leaves in a box or someone with financial poke gets hold of the club; He's here to stay because his deal is watertight.
You have to lose this idea that getting rid of Todd will cost less in the long run when there is NOTHING to pay him or anyone else with full stop. Maybe Junior could ask Daddy for the money required.....

150k a year has been mentioned Rick. Again don't shoot the messenger. All I'm doing his playing devils advocate as an outsider who can see why your manager can't be sacked. I'm not saying wether this is right or wrong just trying to introduce reasoning to the debate.

I don't give a Fuck wether he is or not mate, Fergie, Jose,Rafa, Arsene or Marty couldn't make a silk purse out of the sows ear Junior gives people to work with. Like I said before, just offering a voice of reason amongst the be blindly optimistic calls for Todd's head.

Not rediculous at all in the real world, could you get away with going to a newspaper and slagging off your work mates and customers? - i'd have documented written and verbal warnings if he were my employee.....something i would use when negotiating the terms of his release from his contract!!
That said, i also acknowledge the fact that this would never really happen....
The point you miss though Chuckle is that WE CANNOT AFFORD TO GO DOWN, this would spell the end of the club - therefore the money WILL be found from somewhere should we carry on this current form.....
"play-offs bare minimum" were Rhodes' words at the start of the season.....

And do you really think he knows what the fuck he's talking about?
He's not going to come out and say "Fifth Bottom Bare minimum" is he when there are season tickets to sell?? His trick is actually to say "major investment imminent" when the season tickets go on sale if you recall.
Just answer, Yes or No. Do you, King Billy,on 20/11/2006, honestly and realistically think that Colin Todd is in immediate danger of the sack?

I would say honestly, that he has another month, Baldy posted the next 4 fixtures which are all very winable even in our present form against teams that are struggling also. If we don't gain points from these games i think he will be sacked.

I reckon if he is contracted for this long and it is gonna take so much money to pay him off, everyone should get rite behind him and accept the fact that he's here, you never know, what if we win the next 5 games, everyone will be lickin his arse. Our players arnt very good to be fair, we are probably in about the rite position goin on wagebill in the league arnt we? cant be far off, so how can we just expect promotion? Be grateful we have a club and lets just see what happens, try be posotive and lets create the same atmosphere at home as we do away. CTID

And if he follows the form of his entire reign; Win a couple lose a couple and be plonked midtable?
Do you think he'll go then?
Will you think he should go then?
Do you Think Junior will think he should go?
Fact is, whatever he delivers in the next four games will make no difference, because circumstances beyond the fans control dictate his job is as safe as houses.
Today - No....
If we loose the next two games, i'd say he'll have to go without any doubts....

Yes!!!
ChuckleBantam
11-20-2006, 12:44 PM
Yes!!!
But theres no money to pay him off with. He'll be entitled to a pay off, so will they part fund it by selling Donavan, JJ and Deano? What signal will that send out to ensure we get a competent replacement? Will that replacement come from the evenshitterpool, because they'll need to pay the replacement too with more money the club hasn't got.
It's alright saying the club will have to find the money. I want to drive an Aston Martin, if I say I have to find the money to buy one, will it make it a more realistic possibility?? Will it Chuff!!
Like I say, you can argue the toss and go over these points every monday between now and July 2009, but without a drastic change for the better of the clubs circumstances you'll be better served complaining about something that can realistically happen.

I've said i think the money will be found even if he has to go cap in hand to Daddy. I might be wrong about the time scale but whatever you think of JR, he's not such a complete idiot that he would risk a relegation & i think he loves the club enough to do something about it if that scenario became a possibility. Call me naive but i honestly belive that.

You're Naive.
Junior like the rest of you won't want the club to go down. I honestly don't think you will. A finish of between 10th 18th is the most realistic scenario, which is just about right for the calibre of squad and management at Bradford City football club. Which means that the manager has done enough to hang onto his job. End Of.
Trouble is, should the unthinkable happen and you end up sucked into a relegation battle, you are stuck with Colin Todd because of the length of his contract. Junior's hands will be tied because of this and that means the buck has to stop with whoever sanctioned the deal....oooops

He will be called into Juniors office - which is very small for a football club chairman and be told you have lost the last four ( the four your talking about JS) and your a naughty boy.....now go out and we will review it after the next four games - when once again he will be called in and told - you are a naughty boy - four more games and then its smacked botty time - and NO supper.
Oh and im glad we have the fans attention - they always like a relegation dog fight.

Why would he get paid in advance? pay him his monthly wage, monthly, that removes the large single payment. Easy, nothing says he has to get paid in advance for doing his job so why for not doing his job?
Superfatbantam
11-20-2006, 06:37 PM
That doesn't make sense? Who'd manage us then? And how would we afford to pay two managers, cos effectively Todd would still be paid as manager for putting his feet up at home!
wykie
11-20-2006, 06:48 PM
It removes the big wodge of money required now and spreads the cost over 2 and a bit years. Everybody keeps mentioning the big payout needed I just pointed out we could get rid on the never never:p

Yes it looks like Mr Todd has got himself a little bit of security - if the contract is as it is reported on here - see him nicely until he can then think of retirement - which is mind seems to be on. Oh for a manager who can put some effort in to scouting us bargain players on bargain wages rather than recruiting some x premiership wanabees, install some enthusiasm to the club, players fans and try something different at times. For me he gives the impression he is just going through the motions - after all can the club afford to be promoted -unless we get someone to put money into the club as the squad would need some serious strengthening?
Superfatbantam
11-21-2006, 08:58 AM
To be fair to Todd I would have an educated guess that at the time the contract was agreed it suited us as we were intent on reducing the short term overheads and spreading the cost as with extended contracts for Wetherall, Windass and others. Our problem 2 years ago was immediate fixed costs and the longer contracts at least reduced them so we could get closer to break even.

If you look every other poster on this board is doing the same....
I'm sure he is loving it too and will of course come back with an even more outrageous statement shortly...
That is what he has done for the last 3 to 4 years i have known him on here or the OMB...
On some occasions we have even got on view point wise and unbelievably stood toe to toe against everyone else...
Hard to believe but true...Dave is a big boy and can look after himself. Whereas you mate are just free posting drivel that you do not understand.
