The team tonight fell to another defeat after leading 3-1 & then 4-2, the opposition finally won 4-6 in a well contested game played in a good spirit. C&B opened the scoring with Si getting one after about 2 seconds. He also scored straight from the kick off . Others to score were Rambo & JPH. With only 6 players to choose from & Si & Boosh playing despite carrying injuries the lads played well & eventually were ground down by a team who used their subs very well rotating all the time. Superfat was voted MOM for his sterling efforts despite suffering from man-flu all week. Thanks to all the support tonight, JonnyD, TheBantamBabe, Baldbantam, Tatt, Joe Brett, Edwin Fitzgerald & JS. We were all expecting BB to whip his coat off to reveal a C&B kit & come to the rescue but it wasn't to be. Unlucky lads, better luck next week. A special mention should go to shots by Boosh & JPH. Booshies should just be passing Jupiter as we speak & JP's curler almost did a full 180!!!!!, only joking lads!!!

Reluctantly shook hands, JS. To be fair to them they upped their game and got stuck in more, although I reckon a lot of their shoulder barges were straight through the back of me and I still cannot see what it takes to get some fair treatment from the referees. I mean at one stage I was assaulted and thrown to the ground only to find he'd given a free kick to them. jawdrop:
Thank you for the man of the match, I did my best. I was absolutely gutted and fuming at the end. I only hope I didn't show too much disrespect to their lads - it wasn't meant. I was more angry at the referee. They don't protect players at all and I think someone will get seriously hurt sooner rather than later. Especially if I get chance to go through someone next week. ;)
Points worthy of note - we suffered at the end due to lack of fresh legs and at least two of us being under-fit on the night, Boosh was carrying an obvious injury and I was struggling with serious cold symptoms. Si again got assaulted on more than one occasion - are there different rules for this game in that you can swing elbows, barge people into the wall and kick their ankles as much as you like. Some of the "tackles" would not be tolerated on a Sunday morning and whilst I'm not saying this isn't a man's game I think the referees don't do enough to make it fair. For 35 minutes the game was played in excellent spirit and the referee to be fair helped that, shame he seemed to stop making the big decisions when their lad with the hair (screech, Andy O'Brien lookalike) started to target players rather than the ball.
Still as the ref said to me at the end I'm sure that is more sour grapes than reasoned logic! My arse.
All in all one thing this has done for me is make me more determined to kick seven bells of shit out of whoever we face in future games and me being the fair player I am I'll do it within the rules of the game tup: Here's to an undefeated run til the end of the season cos I am aiming for nothing less.
