View Full Version : Oldham game - Match Report Needed...
...for the BKBantams site. We have a fixtures/results list, and we have a small following of readers, young though our site is, but we don't have any information about the games themselves. We really do need a match report on the forum so I'm respectfully taking this opportunity to make a request for game-goers who wouldn't mind sacrificing 30 minutes of their weekends to keep East Asian Bantams in the picture.
It doesn't have to be the same person every week by the way and match reports wouldn't have to be in immediately afterwards. A Sunday deadline is fine for me.
If you don't really want to do a report every week but you can manage the game against Oldham then that's fine too.
Many thanks.tup:

Hi there,
Sorry, but part of the Football League's master plan for promoting an interest in football is to prevent sites such as yours from carrying fixtures unless they pay a licence fee, which I think is around £5k.
If you continue to carry fixtures you'll eventually receive an email like this one:
Dear Sirs,
DataCo_NBCAD_12293
We write on behalf of the Football Data Co Limited which is the appointed licensee of the FA Premier League, the Football League, the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish Football League ("the Leagues" in respect of the licensing of certain intellectual property rights of the Leagues, including those in the fixture lists for this season August 2005 - May 2006 ("the Fixture Lists"), for use by third parties.
We have noticed that your website http://www.bcst.co.uk is displaying Football Fixtures. In order to display the Fixture Lists you must obtain the necessary licence from the Press Association.
We wish to make you aware that we have a good faith belief that your present use is an infringement of the Leagues' legal rights and that all such unauthorised use must cease immediately. Please confirm by return your agreement to this and give your undertaking to cease all such infringements on any and all of your web sites. Pending your response the Leagues' rights are fully reserved.
The Leagues have appointed the Press Association as their official agent for the licensing and distribution of the Fixtures List. If you have inadvertently infringed our clients' copyright please take immediate steps to contact the Press Association (Email customer.services@pa.press.net) to obtain the appropriate licence. Please confirm to us by e-mail that you are now seeking an appropriate licence. Because of the time sensitive nature of the Fixture Lists you are required to remove them immediately from your site pending the granting of a licence.
We thank you for your cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
Philip Stubbs

I'm just wondering, the fact that the site is based in Thailand, would they actually bother to chase up a site like FKAM'S. I'm not sure how Thai law stands or what jurisdiction the FA have there. I do know you can buy fake Cartiers, Rolex and other brand names by the barrow load. Unless they've tightened up the laws in the last few years.

Lol, come on BiN, how many have you got up your arm to flog in Oslo market;) ;) :D :D
I'd leave them on too, I doubt they'll bother chasing it up if the site is based in Thailand.

Like the man says. You're talking about one of the world's major bootleg capitals. What Sony can't do I doubt the FA can. Plus, no-one gets heavy with Thailand coz it's just too valuable a country, a buffer zone between Western interests and certain undesirables.
All that aside, we've kind of gone off the original point. Can anyone do me a match report this weekend?
Please don't make me go to the OMB!!!!

Can you get me cheap knock offs FKAM??:D
I did a couple of the further away games last season FKAM, I could do one if you like.
Cheers Lee. You're a star. I'd love to have your match reports. You can contact me at bkbantams@hotmail.com.
Let me know what games(s) you think you can do and I'll put you in. There could be an incentive involved actually. I'm thinking about that at the moment. Probably something to the effect of a free night in a hotel in Thailand for a certain number of match reports, but I'll have to think it through first.
Anyway, hope to hear from you soon and thanks again.
