Anyone watching the Man City vs Newcastle game will see a great gesture that i hope more clubs will follow next year....they have stitched a red poppy onto the front of their shirts for Remembrance daytup:

Great Idea from whoever it was at MCFC, a touch of class, well done!!!clap:

Loads of clubs have done it...

Southampton the monkey hangers and others were mentioned...

After the match the kits are up for auction to raise cash for the appeal and other things...

Nah mate ..Why should they...

The fact that some of them have this year, means next year more probably will...

We remember in different ways....

How many folk went to remembrance day parades and services today???

How many took the time to stop and remember at 11?????

I take it you did both mate...

Not having a go at folk but when most couldn't be arsed to do either it seems a bit rich expecting others to do things....

Thats what I thought:( ....do you also go to pay your respects for all those you didn't know as well?

I always remember those that gave their lives for the people of this country and freedom the world over. I also remember the ones that came home, emotionally damaged by the sheer horror they saw during two world wars, and subsequent conflicts since then.

Speaking about Eccleshill Cenotaph, it's nice to see that the stolen plaques have turned back up......in a scrap yard. Nice to see that they have been restored in time as well.

But surely, the guy from the scrapyard must have been a little bit suspicious. Lets just hope that they catch the scum that did it. Hopefully the smack or whatever they bought with the money wipes them off the face of the earth

We all take the risk for nothing asked in return.....The numbers game is a strange thing to take on mate....Thankfully mine hasn't been drawn yet...

I remember all who have fallen both friend and foe in the big wars..... Plus all those since...But especially those from my era.....
