I voted for Si cos I think he had a good game...however...
I think people should offer themselves off for a rest when we need to make substitutions. I know SFB was on the sidelines for a long time tonight and at times people were waiting to go or but people didn't want to come off. That is understandable when we are doing well etc but I think for the good of the team and to make it fair, players should think it fair.

What we need to do is make our minds up!
Last week KB and I had a bollocking for not taking it seriously enough!
Now we are saying it should be made "fair" to all players. IMO when we were 8-6 up, we were fielding our best team.
I sympathise with the players who didnt play as much, but if we are taking it serious and playing to win, surely it should be best practice to have a bit of consistency and stay with our best players?

In fairness to SFB, although he wanted more game time, he realised that at 7-6, we were on a roll & it was hard to drag players off when we had a bit of momentum going, but like we said last night, Matt is in the best position to make the calls rather than from the sidelines & i think we'll get it more streamlined the more the team plays.

Yes I think we should go with our best team but 5-a-side is an intensive game and think a fresh pair of legs gives you an advantage over your opposition tup:

Rambe, I appreciate what you're saying but if that's the attitude you'll end up with 5 players week in week out. If you want to pick the best team and play them for 40 minutes, fine. I was fed up I didn't get anymore time on the pitch and I don't think it fair to assess the best team as the one that was on the pitch at 7-5 or 8-6 when I for one had had about 5 minutes playing time max. By the way while I was on the field we conceeded 1 goal - just a thought like, how does that rank in with the best team?
Don't get me wrong I'm not having a go here but if you are going to have 10+ people interested either you say this is the best team and it's up to everyone else if they want to turn up and sit on the sidelines or you rotate it on a fair basis which means everyone gets equal playing time. Personally I don't want to turn up every week to get a bit-part role, but I suppose that isn't my decision.
Anyways, onwards and upwards.

All I'm saying SFB, is that I got a bollocking for "not taking it seriously", then the next breath its "let's all play nice"
I just want to know which one it is.

Nobodys saying play nice but its a matter of everyone playing a decent part in a game when they've stumped up their money to play. Its just a matter of getting a decent rotation (God, i sound like Rafa;) ) but like last week, i thought the team were on a roll & it was hard to change anyone at that moment, its a situation that will change from week to week depending on individuals & match situations

That was my point. It was nothing to do with how serious you play, how professional you are or how nice you play. It is about respecting the fact that there are more than 5 players. I am not trying to make a big issue of this.
The way I see it is, we should be professional, we have learnt our lesson from the drinking incident, we should be there on time, ready and changed, up for the game and prepared to put 110% in. That is about taking it seriously.
We should also play fair, and by that I don't mean easing up on the hard tackles, I mean there are more than 5 players and therefore there should be a reasonable rotation system to allow all to play. I don't think we have had anyone on the bench who is not worthy of playing. Everyone who has turned up can play to a reasonable level.
One thing that has been overlooked as well is that I knew we had the momentum and therefore I didn't push for a change when I could have. KB was screaming for a change at one point because it needed freshening up as they got a goal back after we were 2 up. I think I was being fair not changing the team when momentum was with us, all I ask is the same back. Even when we haven't had the momentum the rotation hasn't been used effectively. We'll see what happens this week as KB is going to take some responsibility for the changes (I think!).

My MOM goes to the ref, he had a blinder!!!!!
Fuckin blind more like.
You should sub every 5 mins, dunt matter wat your best team is, if someone is nackered they are more likely to make a mistake, we try and make it as fair as possible so all 7 outfield players have equal time on the field. Everyone is happy then.

BM, if you remember, in the second half we hit a sweet spot where we got about 3 quick goals to get ourselves back in the game. At that point it was hard to take someone off when the goals were going in & the momentum was there

BM, what was your problem with the ref?
You had kids playing and tbh they were going down more than a whore's knickers! The slightest touch and we'd get a triple somersault, backwards tuck and pike, all accompanied by the obligatory yelp for effect. I'm glad the ref let play flow as much as he could, it's a man's game and your young uns went dwon under hard tackles far too easily.tup:

How did they go down easy, you were well dirty, everytime I got the ball I got kicked by someone, and one guy was pulling my shirt when I wasnt even near the ball.
And what would be the point in our team diving or going down easy when its harder to score from a free kick. None of them are the sort of player to dive, they just got hit by dirty tactics, but next time we will be ready for it.
Also the ref was absolutly sh*te, and on the night of the game and the day after I remember some of your lot complaining about him, one of our players got bundled over after taking it inbetween 2 of your players and got sod all for it.
And Rambo I was only saying what our team do with regards to subs, cos none of our team has such a big ego to say that they make up the strongest 5 we all play equally.

Sorry I saw it differently. The most honest player you had was the guy with dark hair wearing the old white city away shirt. He was fair and when he got tackled hard he didn't go down crying. There were plenty of us on the sidelines giving out oscars for the acting by one of your younger players.
Shirt pulling off the ball, hard tackles, ankle-tapping, some would say are all part and parcel of the game, some others would say ball-grabbing comes into it as well but the less said about that the better!
Nice to see we have a reputation now though, we were too easily knocked off the ball not long since.
If you think we were hard, menace, wait till you play top of the league. They were easily the strongest and toughest we've played.

We have played top of the league, we didnt think you were hard just used dirty tactics, I think you were dirty becos every single one of our players thought so, not just one or two. And the guy wearing the old city away shirt was pissed off cos your keeper was saying he was diving all the time.
Cant wait for the next game between us, hope the banter continues, and hopefully you can win a few more games so it could be maybe a promotion decider next time.
i'd like some examples of our dirty tactics please???
yes we may have fouled you at times - but that is football. there are going to be fouls. especially when some of us are not as quick as we used to be.

Think we are playing just before you at 8.30 this week, so you can turn up early to give Rawdon Soft some support lol.
With regards to the dirty tactics si, just seemed like it was your gameplan to not let us get past players at any cost, suppose it worked on ur part so credit it too you for that, it was just really frustrating for our team and think it rattled some of the young lads and I guess they will have to learn from that. Good luck for Thursday night anyways, think we might stay to watch your game unless its freezing.

There might have been a few dives but I'll be honest enough to say i went straight through a couple of their players on more than one occassion! Didn't get one foul given against me and the worst one the ref told him to get up and stop diving! That just encouraged me to do it more!
I was pissed off with the ref for allowing you lot that goal when your keeper overarmed it out. And when your lad booted it up way above head high, and it fell at your players feet giving you an advantage he said play on!
Roll on the rematch!

King Billy, he doesnt dive, iv known him and played football with him all his life, and he has never dived in all those years, he int gonna start now is he, just make sure your back is ok for the re-match cos ur gonna be picking the ball out of the back of the net a fair few more times.
