Believe it or not mate there were soldiers killed just like ours from the opposite side who were just doing the same as us and defending their country! DOING AS THEY SHOULD

They weren't defending their country - think you might find they were invading other countries. I accept they were following orders, but they weren't exactly doing the same as our soldiers. Their objective was to seek and conquer, not defend.

They were defending it at the end :D
Anyway they were doing what they thought was right and what they were told was right! Not their fault!
I personally like the germans now, like they like us!!

LOL ok i tolerate them!
I would prefer to talk to a german than a leeds fan though, at least he won't blab on about when leeds will win the champions league or when smithy will return home or bla bla you get the picture!!

I know where you're coming from, but in the same vein do you want ribbons for dead Iraqi soldiers and even dead suicide bombers? After all they were only doing what they thought was right and what they were told. Following orders or not the German soldiers were executing a mission that was totally wrong, and it's a good job they did end up trying to defend it at the end otherwise the world would have been a very different place today.

That's also a good point, but i can't compare the german soldiers to iraqi's i don't know why but i just can't! Anyway we are all friends now!
I do feel sorry fro normal iraqi soldiers actually! Its the militants i don't feel for as they are terrorists not soldiers!?
Also want a ribbon for the killed holocaust victims!!

Unless they end up committing atrocities beyond the normal code of war then the rank and file soldiers of any army are blameless. They don't make the conflict, they are doing their jobs.
Some of our own soldiers down the centuries have fought on less than moral campaigns, but it's the leaders calling the shots who are to blame if there is blame to aportion.

when do you stop
Dead italians - they where doing as I'l Duche said - - cos he liked Hitler.
Think the fallen of the axis forces is best kept to rememberance day - abroad.
On a different thread though......
We commemorate the fall of peace on the 11th November at the 11th hour yet the Germand start a festival called "FLASHING" - may be spelt wrong - at exactly the same time...fancy dress parades lots of beer consumed - to celibrate the fall of peace.
We commemorate - they celibrate - who won the war?????????

your right BB ....
not a greatly known fact - but the British army who fought the boars in Africa during victorias reighn "invented " the concentration camp...
we starved thousands and thousands of Boar soldiers to death.......
We did not consider that a war crime - as they where the enamy!!!
