We'll try again in view of the latest from our on-the-spot reporter Rick who alerts us to the news that Wise is to hold talks with Leeds and that they have confirmed they are looking at compensation payments to Swindon Town to acquire the services of Wise and Poyet.

Odds now in place. I am still taking the guidance of Paddy (the all-knowing, all seeing, Christ be-jaysus) Power and despite the latest news today go 9/2 about Wise.

Paddy Power and Skybet have stopped all bets on Wise becoming new Leeds manager.

PMSL, just seen the bottom of the betting, 50000/1. At least you acknowledge that me & Prawny come as a team like Clough & Taylor, not!!!
I'm not prepared to bet my hard earned points on myself even although i'm not trying to influence the book in any way!!!

Tried to put £100 on at 9/2 at paddy power but it said all bets were suspended, bugger :D

Looks like Swindon town have put a spanner in the works at Bellend Road. Seems they can't agree on the compensation.

Statement From Swindon Town FC

As reported earlier, over the weekend Swindon Town FC received a request from Leeds United FC that they be allowed to speak with Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet regarding the outstanding managerial vacancy at that club.

Swindon Town FC reluctantly agreed to that request but made clear they would only release Dennis and Gus from their contracts if suitable compensation were paid by Leeds United FC. Regrettably it has proven impossible for the Clubs to agree a suitable financial package. Earlier today the Club withdrew permission for Leeds United FC to talk with or seek to appoint Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet.

They also said they had offered a new contract to Wise and Poyet with improved terms as a result of the interest from Leeds. I'm opening the book again!

If Wise wants to go then there is little Swindon can do to stop him in this age of loyalty at football.

He will become Leeds manager, of that I am sure it's just funny that Leeds are being dictated to by the likes of Swindon Town :D
