First of all, have we got the same squad for this week? Can Si play again? Is everyone turning up? I'll text Ryan tomorrow to see if he's playing.

Right, onto my thoughts. I'm still hurting about last week....I was gutted about losing so we need to fix it against what could possibly be the strongest team in the league. No matter though, we are good...we know that but we need to get back to our best.
The first defeat I put down to our own complacency. The second...we gave ourselves too much to do to come back. Both games saw us start okish but both games we gave away a quick set of goals midway through the first half and we could never recover even though we outplayed the opposition inboth second halfs.
Ok, so here's what I'm suggesting....less tempo first half. Keep it tight and play it easy and nice and slow. KB, when you get the ball don't be always looking for the quick ball out. Let's take our time and size up the opposition. Frustrate them a bit.
I'm going to start with JP, Rambo, Boosh and myself. I want JPto hang back, Boosh and Gaz in front of him and I'll go up front and make the runs. Off course it being 5aside positions change but I want that as the general shape. We should have 3 subs so I want plenty of changes to keep it fresh. If you find youself as a sub and you think someone is struggling suggest you swap with them, don't wait for them to come off because as you know, people are always reticent to suggest it themselves! Ant help from the sidelines here will be appreciated and also KB, I see it as your lookout to watch who could do with a swap. We can only sub when the ball is dead or in the keepers hands so KB I want you alert to this. If someone is knacked order them to sub when it's in your hands. It couldalso be a good time waster if we're winning!;) tup:
On that point too....if you remember last week, when they were 2 or 3 in front they kept 2 back always which made us struggle to score because they kept thier discipline. They didn't need to do too much going forward...just keep us out. So if we find ourselves 2 o 3 up I want us to adopt that strategy. I suggest a combination of JP/Superfat/Ryan/Si as our back 2 should we be winning and make them chase the game and generally slow it down some more!
Anyway, that's my thoughts. Please give feedback if you think I'm wrong or can suggest anything else.
I'm well up for this week by the way. After missing the first defeat due to my knee and not being able to put in a full shift last week due to being ill with a cold I feel I owe the team a bit so I'll be on it from the off! I want us all to bounce back a bit too and put in a performance we know we are capable of. If we do ourselves justice and lose then fair enough, I can handle that but if we play poorly again I'll be guuted for another week. Does anyone want that on their conscience??!!
Let's not forget to let the other team know we are there too. I know slide tackles are not allowed but you can still be physical. If anybody wants any tips on "fair" play have a chat with JP who is a master of the arts! Keep your eye on any player who beats him in any game.....he'll have sore ankles and JP will have a cheeky smile! I swear he only plays football to kick people!:D
Forget the captain, I want 5/8 captains out there. Plenty of talking which I think has been lacking the last couple of weeks. Don't be afraid to call someone a cunt for not tracking back or telling you they're in space, just do it. We'll still have a beer after the match! Football ends at the final whistle but we can still be mates in the bar!

Sounds good to me mate - all i'd add is that i think we need to keep it tight from the off, if were 0-0 at half time i'd fancy us 99% of the time to flatten anyone in the 2nd half, keeping it tight 1st half should outweigh the need to try get a lead IMO - altho if a decent chance comes along then course we should take it!!!...

As far as i'm aware Si is available too so it looks like an unchanged squad!!!

Great rallying call Jonny, One bit of advice if you want it, Si has got a fantastic shot on him & he might be a bit wasted if he stays back, i'd encourage him to pepper their goal & if they'll either go in or theres the chance of rebounds to anyone else

well it's about F**king time we injected a bit of fighting spirit into the team. i suppose that's what i meant when i was on about a captain, more someone to make the decisions and tell people not ask them. i'm certainly up for it this week and hope (expect) everyone else to be too. lets show these people who bet against us that they've wasted their points. good idea on the sub thing, i think most are reluctant to go off because most want to play as much as possible i know that's true for me but i do try and give people a chance. at least if people are told to come off whether it be by Matty or someone from the sideline then we'll be able to keep it fresh.

Si is available so it looks like the same as last week depending on Ryan.

LETS FU**ING AVE EM!

Boosh, i hope you stuff em & i lose the bet i posted , i was following the advice of Bantam Menace but i also bet on you to win first. If the team is more organised like Jonny says we've got a chance, i think you'll all be up for it this week. To be honest the last 2 keepers have had outstanding games against C&B as well

Just a bit of advise, if they havent got there regular keeper like when they played my team, shoot as early as possible, the sub keeper who went in wasnt very good but their defense is so good at closing down and blocking shots that you need to shoot at every half opportunity that you get. Good Luck lads, cant wait for next week when we play you, should be a good game.

I concur with the points raised, and would like to make some more.
Warm-ups: I know we're not professionals but we should warm up a little bit. A match ball sponsor anyone:D
Substitutions: should be made every 5/6 mins, no matter if needed or not. This keeps the team fresh. Some people , including myselfjump: , may be able to play the whole game but we need to rotate. We could do with someone monitoring the players(a manager!) and making those decisions.
Tracking back: no matter what position you play you need to be marking someone at all times when not in possesion. Last week this is how we lost most goals:mad: .
Ben Astin: top of the table, scoring lots of goals. We might have to play boring football and try score on the break. Dare i say damage limitation, at least for the first half, as we come on strong in second half.

If Ryan can't play my mate paul from the other week can.

Good post, I agree with everything said and welcome the change of attitude. In terms of substitutions though the players on the pitch have to take responsibility for the rotation, I did it last week, I could have easily stayed on for the full second half, but I offered the sub opportunity and lo and behold JPH came on and banged one in within 5 seconds. That is what makes the difference, their player was caught unawares cos he was used to marking me and then doesn't know who he's picking up.

If you're on the pitch pick up the vibes and change yourself even if you're not tired but you feel a change may just make a difference.

Jonny, don't take it to heart mate, I was gutted as well. Biggest disappointment is, if I can be honest here, we played way below what we can. I have only seen us play the last few weeks, no idea what level you guys have played before this but it is so obvious that we are not realising our potential. We were strolling at one point and our heads went down as soon as they scored. We all have to dig deep and get ourselves ready for this.

Oh and we need some better backing from the fans, it's like a morgue! Prawnie, you're leading the chants!
