Match report

Well we lost 6-4. I was watching from the side this week and was clearly missed! :D

Both teams started cagey but we went one up with a great finish from this weeks ringer, Si. We never seemed to get going though. Our usual passing game was a bit knackered by the wet conditions and The Travellers looked more comfortable on the ball. They had one decent player who they gave the ball too all the time and he scored a few and we went in at half time losing 4 or 5-1, can't quite remember.
Second half we played much better. We started getting a goal back here and there and with 3 minutes to go we had it back to 6-4. The opposition were rattled and arguing amoungst themselves and I reckon we'd have come back for the win had the game gone on longer. They were a bit of a dirty trick team, wasting time where they could as they were winning. I think we should learn from that and do it ourselves when given the chance!
I was a little disappointed with the ref. When we were losing, he took time out twice to have longish chats with 2 of their players for swearing at him which was our time he was wasting! I also reckon we only played 18 minutes eachway and it's supposed to be 20. That said, we lost fair and square and I think it will give us a kick up the arse to be on our game next time around.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm already looking forward to the rematch with The Travellers, we're gonna dick them right up!

Thats a fair report jonny, they started whinging in the 2nd half & we started scoring. Like you say they were wasting time towards the end & we could have done em . Heres to next week , get back to winning ways

Fair report, I agree re the ref, what do you need to do to get a booking, he must have told one of their lads off at least 3 times, all of which was our time.

Nobody played badly, we were just off the pace a bit, they played a lad in the first half who was wearing blue, as opposed to the red the rest of his teammates were wearing, and clashing with the ref's blue tracky top. But hey that smakcs of sour grapes. They played well first half, we were poor with our marking, but had a few of our shots gone in we would have had em. Their keeper was man of the match for me for his saves in the first half.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, good craic with the lads and promising signs that we can turn it around next week.

Let's have more people supporting us. I did threaten to offer 25 year season tickets tonight but it wasn't well received!
