This is my stab at the odds, so this could go disastrously wrong!tup:

Own goals do not count for betting purposes.

Let us know what you think!

Like at the Bookies do you get your money back if the player hasn't played any part in the game before the first goal is scored?

If so I'll bet on JJ, it wouldn't suprise me if he ended up playing on Sat no matter what news is apparantley coming out of Valley Parade.

JJ's not listed, do you want me to give you a price?

I'll do the money back for non-players as well. It's blooming hard work this lark! I hope my wages have gone up!tup:

JJ is listed at the bottom of the list now at 11/1.

Stakes are refunded on any player who takes no part in the match or who comes on as substitute after the first goal has been scored. Own goals do not count for First Goalscorer purposes and are ignored.

Assuming Ed will allow me to do this, that is!

Not bad Mark, but with an overound of 174% you wouldn't get many takers on the high street. you should push out some of the shorter ones by a point or two really.
No goal scorer should be around the same as the 0-0, which is about 5/1.

Ok so what's the going rate on over-roundedness on 1st goalscorer markets?

I think I'm doing well to get the normal betting markets down to nearer 105% over-round than the typical 112 you get at Ladbrokes and the high street. This one was difficult cos I've tried to accomodate every player!

OK, I've pushed the odds out so for those who had already bet, you now have better odds!

Euro, there is no way you can get a first goalscorer market anywhere near the 100% mark. I take your point re no goalscorer and have revised the odds, I had the England game in mind!

What next? Correct Score, First Goalscorer/Correct Score Doubles? All this for a few imaginary points!:D

I reckon about 2% a runner Mark, its a mugs punt anyway ;)
There was a good piece in the Post by Kevin Pullein the other day to the effect that if you fancy 0-0, you should always bet no goal scorer rather than the correct score becuase you'll still get paid out if there is an own goal.

I've known that for years! Some things you do pick up working in a bookies.

Check out Ladbrokes England 1st goalscorer book, I'd hazard a guess without doing all the maths it is nearer 200% over-round - it is a piss-take, this is where they make their money on football bets.

BTW, I am not pricing up the 8.44 at Walthamstow, before you ask!:D
